I have a new processor on the way here and switching from a Pent D 925 to a E6850 so i need to expect some higher frequencies from my trusty Corasir value select memory.

Hope somebody has some insight on how far i can expect to push this stuff without too much worry.

My expectations are 6400 speeds but not sure to start at 5-5-5-15 by way of raising the voltage to 1.9 or keeping them set at 6-6-6-18 @ 1.8v.

Not going to go too crazy but i was thinking 3.6 ghz would be a good overclock for everyday usage.

system in question: Gigabyte GA-P35-S3G, E6850, 2-1 gb Corsair vs 5300,

you should be able to do 900-1000mhz 5-5-5-15
i think they are promos chips if they are 900mhz easy 2.0v

900-1000 mhz will probably not be needed for my setup but 800 mhz will be a good starting point i think.

my starting voltage will be 1.9 volts then i do run a 80mm fan on them so heat should not be much of an issue.

I will post back next week when im done with my testing.

OK i got the E6850 yesterday and running the memory at 780 5-5-5-15 1.9v and the cpu overclocked to 3.4. After running Orthos blend for many hours and having to make a few voltage changes to get the cpu stable everything seems ok. This is great news i was dreading needing to purchase new memory but all worked out in the end. Maybe more overclocking to come once the A.S cures a bit and temps chill out.

what is the rev of the ram that will tell u what it will clock, if u have had it for a long time then it could be 1.x and that would get u the d9 magic

The memory is from last year i can post this if it helps or i will look next time the machine is off.

Those paper tags fell off the memory long ago but there might be some info on the modules or chips.

you dont need much volts to run @ 3.4 1.3 is plenty i can goto 3.6 with 1.3v

I raised the voltage until i could get through Orthos properly just 2 clicks past stock setting (1.33v) on my board.
