View Full Version : August's photo topic "Unusual Perspective"

[XC] 2long4u

Okay next month will be "unusual perspective".
Unusual perspective can be anything. You could see something every day and be unintersting but if you take a different approach to the shot it becomes intersting. You can use any trickery you like including fisheyes, ect.

Please include a sentence or two with your photo describing what you were trying to achieve and if there were any particular challenges in doing so.

Please also include the following:

Camera Model:
Lens and focal length:
Aperture:
Shutter Speed:
Sensitivity:
Post processing:

Here are this months submissions.

Nate P.
Congrats on being on top of the game and getting a shot out first.

Tin EOF
You are only allowed to be judged on one pic so I picked the shot that displayed a perfect example of an unusual perspective. That would be a great s curve shot also.

Hey there, question is this for you real dsl'r people or can I submit something shot with a more simple camera? I liked the competitions you keep holding here 2long4u but only have a zd710 (http://www.letsgodigital.org/nl/camera/specification/1593/show.html). I usually shoot on p to, so I'm truelly not a real 'nikonian' ;)

I don't care if you submit a shot taken from a camera phone as long as more people submit pictures. Also try to keep it on the A setting and experiment with depth of field. That is where your subject is in focus but the background is blured, in case you didn't know.

Yeah I followed the previous threads and read a link about to high apperture causing a grainy picture or something like that ( you see, I don't post everywhere I browse, photo's for instance is something I admire you people in but I don't think I'm particulary gifted in any way ). Just that camera only has auto focus, it usually does a good enough job ( and for 130e I can show you some pretty nice pics from it, and while it's jpeg and not raw I can use photochop's cameraraw features which I couldn't with my old point and shoot.

I was trying some close-up stuff (not exactly macro) on some computer parts, and I kinda thought it was an angle you don't really see everyday.

Hey 2long4u I never really done anything like this, but as a pattern/model maker I go into foundry's every once in a while, and some of the pictures could be great, I only have a point and shoot camera, and I never done photography or anything, but I would like to give it a shot.

^^ Sure go for it. All pictures are welcome. It's not the camera, it's the photographer that takes great pictures.

With everyone taking close ups, I had to go the polar opposite.

This was taken on tuesday, I had the day off to take my girl
flying for her 21st, my mate was the pilot, and I took loads of photos
so Em could just enjoy her flight.

Only things I have done are up the saturation and contrast, and
darken a little, it wasn't a very good photo because its taken through a window, and full
zoom, on just a cheepo olympus point and shoot. Being a point and shoot, and not even my
camera, I can't really give the specifics, sorry.

If you can manually set the shutter speed on your point and shoot, you can do dragged shutter.

YugenM
09-06-2008, 10:40 AM
Another way to do it is to use the "firework" preset, although the shutter speed on that preset is generally a second or two from my experience
