Hi everyone am new to the forum

I am looking for some help.

I am looking for a new LCD / TV monitor I had the LG M228WD. max res 1680 x 1050.

The monitor needs to have either hdmi / dvi for my 4870 GPU's although the 4870 did not work with dvi on the LG.

My girlfriend will also need to use the screen via vga so she can connect the laptop to. It also needs to have freeview also.

I use the monitor for gaming and pc stuff.

My girlfriend will use it for her work & to watch tv when working.

Looking for 22"-26" £350 ish

The Samsung T220 HD with HDMI is a nice monitor there is also a version without HDMI (Samsung T220) it`s like 70$ cheaper.
Just recently i purchased a Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP 24'. It`s a little expensive but for what you get it`s worth every penny.
You get VGA , DVI-D with HDCP, S-Video, Composite, Component, HDMI, DisplayPort and 2 card readers and 2 USB 2.0 ports.
It has an incredible stand, a million times better then any Samsung out there, you can tilt it pretty much in any direction you want=) and has a good picture.
I had a Samsung 2232BW and the stand on that monitor is a joke it should win worst stand of the year award. Just the installation of it was terrible.
Only thing the Samsung has better is the 2m response time compared to the Dell. But then again the Samsung is 22-inch and the dell is 24-inch @ 1900by1200 (1080P) and if you plan to watch blue ray movies this is the best resolution.

PS the Dell came with no dead pixel and with every Samsung i had i always managed to find one or two dead pixels on it. With Samsung is a game of russian roulette when it comes to dead pixels.

Thanks everyone

I was looking at the Samsung T240HD but in the UK there £500 ($1000) I also like that dell monitor. I will try and find some reviews on both see what comes up.

My LG 22" was good but does not work with my ATI 4870 in DVI mode prob a corrupt EDID & does not support 1080p

So its either Dell or Samsung
