I currently own an IDE Sony DVD-RW burner, I was wondering what kind of performance difference can you see by upgrading to a SATA interface. I wonder if its even worth the upgrade, from what I know about my drive the IDE maxes out the burning speed of DVD's persay.
What are other people's takes on it?

0 Difference between the two.

You wont gain any better burning speed. Its just the way you want to connect them basically.

Only benefit is the smaller cable - which is why many use them.
