Hi. I have a problem: this motherboard has difficulty to find my 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 32Mb cache.

Sometimes it finds the seagate when it makes boot, but shows problems in the windows (system very slow... Error of writing...); sometimes the mobo finds it at the boot but windows doesn't start; soemtimes the bios doesn't find it and it doesn't make boot.

Have you got the same problem? Eventually how can I solve it?

With my "old" Asus Maximus Formula I didn't have this problem...

PS: I tried with different sata cables... different sata port... but I can't solve the problem! :shakes:

I use Barracuda 7200.11 without any problem with BlackOps. Check your BIOS settings, may be you have something wrong?

No... I think the problem is the motherboard... I can't understand... Maybe some batch of the 7200.11 are incompatible.

The bios is ok. When I use that hard disk, it makes detecting drives for many seconds.

I am waiting for an Asus Evolution... I'll make some tests.

Thx the same for the support.

If the drive going south might be the issue, then I would think the board problem would be it heading north. But then the drive would still be south wouldn't it.

any updates? :(
sounds like the drive is the problem, but im not 100% sure...
i checked and found a few seagate drives and they all work fine...
if the drive works on other boards and doesnt on ours, then please let me know!
