This will be my first attempt at building decent watercooling rig, I used mostly of the shelf kits up to this point. Will be using 2 loops one for CPU / MB and one for the 2 GTX280's.

List of components so far.

Computer Parts:

Intel QX9650 Quad core Overclocked to 4.0Ghz
XFX 790i Ultra Motherboard
OCZ Platinum DDR3 2000Mhz Ram 2x2GB
BFG 280GTX X2 in SLI
2x VelociRaptor 300GB Raid 0 drives
2x640GB Wester Digital Raid 0 Storage Drive
Samsung DVD Burner
Cosmos S Case
Silverstone strider 1000W Modular Power Supply
Running Vista 64Bit

Water cooling parts

Swiftech GTZ CPU Water Block
2x Swiftech MCP-655-B Pumps
Swiftech MCR320-QP Radiator for Video Cards
Swiftech MCR220-QP for CPU loop
Yate Loon D12SM-12 Fans
2x Swiftech Micro Res
2x EK Nickel Plated GTX280 Waterblock
Aqua Computer 790i NB + SB Waterblock,
EK Mosfet Coolers.
Sunbeamtech 4 channel Fan controller
Tygon 7/16 Tubing
Bitspower fittings.

So far I stripped the Comos Case so it is easier to work on. Started some mock up radiator placements. Will be building a shelf to mount the 2 pumps and 2 res just above the bottom Rad.

Here are some preliminary pictures, the motherboard is an old board I am just using for mock up.

I am torn between fluid colors. One Loop will be red for sure, second loop either orange or yellow. What do you guys think?

Have I mentioned I hate sleeving? broken pin extractor tool, bleeding fingers from using staples. I do love PET sleeves though, they look sweet :)

Here is my final ATX cable (that white connector is being replaced shortly with a black one)

The sleeving material is from Frys, it's called J&T PET sleeves. Works really good, it's a bit thick.

Kaane sorry to hear your having shipping delays with aqua, i was thinking about getting this block, but decided to wait for the bitspower, same design as the aqua block, it should be available soon, let us know how that block looks and performs.

I'm lifting up the thread with question - where's the best place to mount swiftech micro reservoir in Cosmos S?

IS the radiator facing the ground going to obstruct the fans ability cool it. I am just new to water cooling. If this doesn't effect it. I might be interested in doing that too. Especially if I am thinking I might need another radiator to cool my 4870x2.

Finally after 2 months, I got the loops hooked up. Had issue with the BP swivel fittings they were comming apart, had to wait over a month to get them RMA'd for a new version.

Didn't you say you were using red and yellow dyes and dual GTX280's?

Looks good.

Kaane
11-01-2008, 04:18 PM
decided to go with yellow and orange. Problem is yellow looks almost like green with UV light. It looks yellow when i turn the UV off. Second gtx 280 will be hooked up when i test the temps of the first one, not sure my radiator can handle both.
