My NB rises up to 52c when full load! I know that's hot and that is why im asking if how hot is hot?

:confused::confused:

when eye was using a 4 heat pipe cooler on the cpu (thermaltakeI1) the nb & cpu would be within 2c of each other uasually
mine only got up to 50c+ (nb) when using 1.6~1.7 v on it

for referance mine runs around 30c~40c at 100% cpu usage (orthos) with 4.0 445fsb at 9 multi

but eye also added a fan to my nb thiers 1 on both ends of the nb :D

and the whole comp is piped into the house ac

I have a thermaltake heatsink and fan on mine and it runs around 45-55c under load. This is at 1.53v with a 445fsb and 9.5 multi (4.2ghz). The ambient temp in the room is usually around 37-40c in the summer. yeah its friggin hot :( I sweat just sitting in my chair. Its my wife's fault for not letting me locate it outside the foyer -_-

52c is fine. I believe these NBs are rated up 100c by intel (scary huh) no ? or is that just the x38/48 chipsets.

50 degrees should be fine, but if you can get it down with an extra case fan, id put one in :D
and kinshou, 40 degrees ambient? damn!!! can you even oc at all with that temp?

Yah it's really hot in my room! But anyway, it a load temp not idle so it's ok right?

Damn crysis!

ya 50c at load not all that bad

but like saaya says any ole fan just blowing on it does wonders

Hmmm, i realized that when my video card loads up, the heat rises above and may contact in mars nb right? Maybe that's one reason. :D

hahahaaa ya that might do it

But it's not necessary to replace my video card's stock cooler right?

necessary no but it's allways fun hahahahahaaa

but really if thiers metal to metal contact then it's best to simply slide a piece of thickish plastic between them at that spot ;) doesnt have to be big just enough to get the job done

Is is possible to put a direct 120 or 110mm fan behind the video card? Will it help reduce it's temperature?

eye hooked (ty wraped) 3 amd (socket478 eye think) cpu fans end to end and set them on top of my card on full blast for a while all that happened was a 4c differance my card only runs around 44c anyways so took em off

but for an 8800 gt like yours it would of done better job for shure

nice, is it flexible?
let us know how it works, seems like a nice gadget to improve airflow in any system! :D

I haven't bought or tried it yet because it's out of stock here in my place. It sucks though. :(

Edit:

@saaya

Yes it is flexible. :D

hmmm zalman has a similar thing, it can be mounted on the vga/pci card slot space and has a fan you can rotate to cool any part of the board :)

Speaking of zalman, have you guys tried their fan controller product? Zalman MFC2, i think that's the product name.
