I have about $200 to spend.
My 750i SLI FTW didn't hold up well with a Q6600, so any recommendations?

I want a board that can handle a Quad at 1.45v+, because this board gets sketchy at 1.4v in terms of power... 422FSB 24/7 at least...
The P5Q looks like the best option right now.

P5Q's are the best boards going for your dollar right now. I just picked up the P5Q Pro. The E will give you slightly better cooling on the NB, and some added voltage options in BIOS for overclocking. However, the Pro still comes loaded and they just added some voltage options through a BIOS update.

I'm paranoid about powe regulation, so I think I'm going to get the Deluxe's 16-phase. My 6-phase is flaking on me on load right now.

Well you won't be doing any harm by going with the Deluxe.

Change of plans, looks like I won't be able to shell out $200, but only $150-$170... What should I get now? gogogoogogogo

P5Q-E is out of stock.. What's the Biostar I45 like? Enough BIOS settings?

The 4-phase looks pretty shaky... I have to make a decision NOW, so what should I do?

Why not look at some of the P35 boards? Almost all are in that range.

I'm thinking of going 45nm sometime in the future, and P45 seems to be worth it.
ZZF has the P5Q-E in stock...
Now should I get the I45 or the P5Q-E?

what about the dfi LT p35, it has the best power regulation and clocks great, and the fine gtl controls help with quads if u want to spend the time for the best oc

and it dose low gtls so u can do the 45nm with the 64% and lower

I was thinking of a Q9450-esque upgrade, and P35s just can't do high FSB.

I was thinking of a Q9450-esque upgrade, and P35s just can't do high FSB.Since when can't p35 chipset handle high fsb? I have an X3360 that runs fine in an ip35-pro at 450*8.5
Exactly how high do you think you're going to get stable with a q9450?

You can do that easy in a "good" P35 board. I'm presently mad at my unmodded IP35 Pro cuz she won't quite do 500.

im also lookin for a board, planning on e8400 now, quad later (45nm of course)
i also bought into the "no enough phase!" paranoia :p:

ASUS P5Q Deluxe LGA 775 Intel ASUS P45 looks great, is it guranteed to do 450 FSB?

$200 no tax (i see you're in california, so are most online stores, tax is about $20 on a $200 mobo :( )

or for ~$25 more, is it worth to bump to an X38, like a DFI LanParty LT X38-T2R or a Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4?
or even X48 for ~$40 more? like a DFI LP LT X48-T2R ?

I wanna futureproof (at 2 cpu and 3 video card upgrades) my motherboard selection.

PS: Loser777, didnt mean to threadjack you :toast:

473MHz fsb on air for 24/7 on P35, fair enough for that chipset.:D Not so sure though that being able with Q9450, not beacuse of the mobo but more because of the cpu.
Good luck with your P5Q-E.
