Hi guys,
I need 2 extra SATA ports in my PC for 2 optical drives (BD + DVD)
First I tried to use my 3ware PCI-E SATA RAID controller and connected my 5 hard disks to this one. (2 Raid arrays)
I had issues booting, installing and running VISTA.....As soon as I tried to install the SP-1 for Vista 64bit.....the system just froze. I also noticed that sometimes I could hit the power switch and the system just would not turn on.
then I tried a cheaper PCI Sata controller and only connnect the 2 Optical drives and connected the HDD's to the onboard nvidia RAID controller.
Same problem.
I suspect a IRQ issue.....
Any ideas ...anyone ...please.
I do need a total of 8 Sata ports.:confused:
