I want to join 4 fans into one 3 pin connector and have it controller by a fan cotnroller. How do you guys go about doing this?

I use the method shown here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=3050930&postcount=11).

Wouldn't you lose rpm control on the 2 fans?
Or will the one yellow wire work for all 3.
Wasn't sure if it is rpm control or voltage control for these fans

When you join fans, you can control RMP of only one fan. Also, same voltage will be applied to all. So, better is to join same fan type for a precise control

And, inspite of altering/cutting wires, just use some Y 3 pin cable. You'll need 3 Y cables to join 4 fans though. With Y cables, you can choose the fan you wish to monitor the RPM from the 4 fans

I've been looking for these Y-pin cables as STARTECH makes a nice one, but its either too expensive ($14 for a ypin cable? come ON) or out of stock. So I was tinkering with the idea of doing it myself. Thanks Skauneboy, thats what I thought I had to do but couldn't find confirmation.
