Hey all =)

NEW WORKLOG IS HERE!!! (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=217289)

This will be my first attempt at liquid cooling, I want to do as little modding required and have the best "look" I can =)

Ok, So my LC parts are currently on their way to me from Jab-Tech (Best support I have seen!)

This is what I will be using -

Heating :ROTF:
Intel CORE 2 Q6600 2.4Ghz
Asus P5KC - DDR2/DDR3 support
DDR2 2048MB Team Xtreem Dark
GeCube Radeon 4870 GDDR5 512mb
Samsung 750gb
Western Digital 160gb
Corsair HX620 watt modular
Silverstone TJ07

Cooling (On its way)
D-tek Fuzion V2 (Barbs: 3/8" Dtek Barbs)
Swiftech MCR320-QP-K Triple 120mm Radiator (Barbs: 3/8" Swiftech Metal High Flow)
Swiftech MCP 355 12v DC Pump
XSPC - Acrylic Reservoir for Laing DDC
PrimoFlex Pro LRT UV Blue Tubing - 3/8in. ID x 5/8in. OD x8
EK High-Flow Fitting - 3/8" OD x4
Plastic Tubing Clamps - Black x10
ARCTIC SILVER ARCTICLEAN 60ML KIT - THERMAL MATERIAL REMOVER
Arctic Cooling MX-2 Thermal Compound
YATE LOON 120mm Case Fan - D12SH-124B - UV Blue Frame with 4 Blue leds - High Speed
Scythe "KAZE MASTER" 5.25" Bay Fan Controller - Black

I hope to get my Quad core to ATLEAST 3.4ghz which really should be a piece of cake :p

I STARTED off by wondering where I can mount the HD cage ;) Then an idea popped in my head!

(Sorry for some bad pictures, My camera doesn't want to work atm :( )

THINKING WHERE I CAN MOUNT THE CAGE:confused:
http://i37.tinypic.com/2hi5puv.jpg

I TOOK OUT THE USB/AUDIO BAY. REPLACED IT WITH HD CAGE =)

http://i36.tinypic.com/169qiye.jpg

NO MODDING/SCREWS REQUIRED!!!

http://i34.tinypic.com/v310dk.jpg

FINAL LOOK

http://i37.tinypic.com/2506red.jpg

So that is pretty much all I can do until i get my LC items to play around with ;)

More pics will be with you as soon as I receive my goodies :)

Nice one - Love the TJ07!

With the HDD mount - I never thought of that with mine, however I still wanted to use the front USB ports. Judging from the pic how you show it fits outside the rails - why not still have the usb bay there are run the cable through the hole in the side of the hdd bay. You said you are only running the one hdd so there should be plenty of room for it. Just a thought.

Looking forward to some more pics.

Another take for the HDD mount. I took the bottom of an old CD-Rom drive, so I had a piece of metal in a |_| shape, drilled holes in that and screwed the original mounting point for the HDD cage on to that then mount the CD-Rom base in the 5.25'' bay. Makes it easy to get out as you only have to undo that one thumbscrew on the mounting point

Nice idea :)

Well, my liquid cooling stuff is still only shown as "International dispatch" which means it is still on THE PLANE 4 DAYS LATER!!

Yes I am pissed, it is probably sitting at customs and hasn't been scanned yet!

Far out!

*UPDATE*

As requested, I mounted the HD cage with the USB reader IN as well :)

(Note, you will need flat heat screws for the HD cage to fit OVER the USB screws ;) )

Place the card reader in, (USE FLAT HEAD SCREWS)

http://i37.tinypic.com/azjmnp.jpg

Run the cables INFRONT of the HD bay, the bay cover SHOULD fit around the cables) *YOU CAN CABLE TIE DOWN THE CORDS SO YOU CAN HAVE ANOTHER HARD DRIVE IN THE CAGE!*

http://i38.tinypic.com/ebajk2.jpg

Bay covers fit around the cords :D

My tubing is THIS (http://www.jab-tech.com/PrimoFlex-Pro-LRT-UV-Blue-Tubing-3-8in.-ID-x-5-8in.-OD-pr-4115.html) one. Does my tubing look like that in the picture? No. Is it UV reactive? No.

I have emailed Jab-tech because i looks like i got the wrong tubing! Just my luck :ROTF::shakes:

Looks good man. I see you have some new compression fittings. It looks like you cannot screw them down all the way. I have the same effect when I tried my Primochill tubing. What size fittings do you have?

Yeah, I have the primochill 3/8 5/8 UV tubing. Fittings are 3/8 5/8 (don't fit on the Fuzion V2) To get the compressing fittings that tight, boil some kettle water and place about 5cm of the tubing in it. Leave it in there for about 30seconds :) It will still put up quite a fight though when you tighten the compression!

New pictures also! I re-drained and "un-tangled" the tubes.

I've got some questions for you:cord:

So did you have any leaks? [referring to that OCAU warning thread]
Is 3.6 your final oc? I really find it hard to get past 3.8 IBT stable without raising all my voltages by a large amount.

3.6ghz is a piece of cake to get, I could go past 3.8 but I would have to raise the NB voltage which I can't be bothered doing LOL!

Thanks heaps!!!

I needed the extender, it was way too short with it, a 20cm extender is plenty :) As I cut a hole in the motherboard tray ;)

Mounting the rad....short and simple....VELCRO!:yepp: yes, VELCRO, it works like a gem and takes 5minutes, if that. I then made sure the radiator was leaning forward a bit so I placed a few "offcuts" of tubing infront of it to hold it upright :) Like so....

It was the only thing lying around the house and I couldn't be bothered going out to get something to mount it lol.

If I sell my computer, I'm not, I'll keep it for my next build.

*IF* i order a "T" line/3 barbs - which i need to be able to mount to res, then, it'll come to about $100 AUD (Shipped):down:

New order, bare in mind I recently got an EK 250res.

2 x TFC Barb (Compression Fitting) - Nickel-plated, 1/2"-3/4", G1/4"
(FC-FI-1234) = $19.92
1 x T-Fitting G1/4", Delrin, Black (DD-FIT-D100) = $12.50
1 x Fill Port (G1/4"), Delrin, Black (DD-ACC-509) = $18.95
10 x Barb (Fat Boy) G1/4" to 1/2", Brass, Chrome-plated (DD-FIT-B502) =
$45.00
2 x Feser Tube - UV Blue, 1/2", 3/4", 1/8" (FC-FT-0062) = $27.90
------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: $124.27

2 x Feser One Fluid - UV Blue, 1l (FC-F1-0001) = $81.00
------------------------------------------------------
Sub-Total: $81.00

Yes, I know, stupid prices, this is Australian prices for you. Since the AUD sucks, purchasing from the US would be just as bad.

Ok all!

Well, I got my TFC360 radiator on Wednesday, installed it with 2x Feser rotaries off my mate that I got, leak testing.............. Put and paper towel around the 45* rotary and it had blue coolant on!! Another LEAK!. Once I drained the system, I looked at the rotaries and one of them had a bigger gap than the other (where the rotary bit is)

I just went back to my "Fat Boy's" and all has been going well! Temps have only dropped by about 2*C lol.

New camera is coming soon so say goodbye to :banana::banana::banana: pictures :) These are the best i could do! (FOR NOW! More coming!!)

School as in school. High school. I'm not as old as you think ;) I'm er.....young.

All these parts have been raised by me from doing a "secret" job online (Which includes Adobe After Effects) and my job @ woolies for $8/hour. lol, slavery much??

Flabber didn't go "bad," he just had to close his store because as you know, most of his items are "pre-order" that was because he didn't have the funds to do bulk orders like Gammods. He got hit hard by the USD so he decided to close the store, most refunds have been given out but now he can't contact the peeps on OCAU that have PM'd him their details because they banned him lol. 2ish weeks ago he decided to close.

yep, it's awesome, the Australian dollar SUCKS so much that it is cheaper to get liquid cooling parts over here rather than order from the US.

$1AUD = $0.66USD

Small update, I emailed Nils/Charles and wanted advice from them as they're the "Professionals" in my eyes. They gave me a few suggestions, one of them was the red heatsinks had to be taken off and they don't "go" with blue. Why take them off? I thought to myself, so I painted them blue ;) Turned out pretty much the exact same colour as the tubing under NO UV. Looks pretty good in my books, my backplate has been removed, just waiting for the MurderMod one to arrive :) (Thanks Charles/Nils) and something else "Black" is drying.....

Maybe you could try the Ghetto solution I did when I painted the back on my drives!

Find some big fat black permanent marker pen that is smear proof and dries instantly. I bought my fat marker at an Art Material Shop, the pen tip was 12mm wide and ~5mm thick.

I took the drive with me to the Art Shop and asked what I could use to paint the back plastic with in the most easy way, and they were really helpful and showed me these fat marker pens.

I then let it dry for 24h in front of a table fan on slow speed, and the result looked real good later in my TJ07.

The only problem I had was to find the right marker for the job. Some markers from the super-market I tried out with first on an old drive - wasn't good.

This was 2 years ago and I don't remember the name of the marker pen, and the Art Shop I bought them from is now unfortunately out of business!

I remember though that the marker had a VERY strong smell that almost made me high :peace: and that the ink was very hard to remove from my fingers, so vinyl gloves is recommended.

So ask the Art Shops for a strong fat marker that has a good reaction with plastics (etches in) not too strong though, so that the plastic melts :D.

Fantastic work dingdong! I've really enjoyed seeing this build progress and getting better and better every step of the way. That backplate looks really nice, I must admit. It seems like every time you are done with the build, you step it up a notch. What's next? :)

Well, too many people said, " SHOW ME THE WHOLE CASE NOW," so i guess I have too :) These pictures aren't the best because

1) The window on the case reflects EVERYTHING!
2) I'm a "photo-n00b"
3) There is none.

Happy NEW YEAR! Bring ON 09'!

Looking, great! And you're pics are getting better and better. It's hard to take a good photo of the black cases, especially when there are reflections - I think you did a nice job (on the photos and the Build).

And ... to ask the important questions -- does it perform like you want, and are you happy?

Thanks heaps Shazza ;) Pictures aren't as good as yours though :)

Hell yeah I'm happy! I'm only running the CPU @3.6ghz, it zooms now :D

Thanks!

You know those gold things that you screw into your motherboard tray in which the mobo screws into? well I got 2 of them, screwed them together, got another do, did the same thing, then I screwed them into either side of the hard drive and THEN put it in place > Screw into the 5.25" bays. :) (If you understand that :) )

Thanks man! The back is not as clean as I would like it to be, mainly because of all the molex connections I have!!!

To make it so clean, you have to cut a piece out of the mid tray. Takes about 5minutes :)

what an awesome final result, looks good:up:

Thankyou!

hi just read this entire log and liking it! very similar to mine actually, and almost an exact copy of what i intend mine to be like (eventually!)
and you are a similar age to me! and it was your first WC attempt...LIKE ME! AND I JUST GOT A NEW CAMERA TOO! WTF! scary....

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=159620&highlight=TJ07&page=11
mine is in this thread just below yours! its pretty sloppy cos its unfinished!

i would also like to see your ninja-like cable skillz at the back.

good work dude!

one suggestion...if you have access to a pillar drill (at your school for intance) then get some smoked acrylic (or transparent black...its the same thing) and replace the stock window with a dark one. it looks much , much better.

Nice man, keep it up ;)

The fans are yate loons UV blue. One suggestion for you, turn your CPU block around so the cables go in a "cleaner-look" loop. I turned mine 90* ;) Scarey indeed......

As for me I am trying it with the Temjin TJ09 and my "Arctic Breeze Way" See linky in sig

Charles has said that the TJ09 case is on the short list at Murdermod ... but when that will be is anyone's guess, including his!

Really nice job James!

I have 3 little suggestions.

I'd remove the plastic edge protectors from the holes on the midplate - not needed IMHO.

Mabe paint the GPU IO plate.

I find those teeny zipties kinda look like a portly dude in a speedo - Mebe go with ones a bit thicker for visual balance. Like a dude in a speedo, I get the feeling that those you've got look like they may pop off at any moment. :ROTF:

Great work! :)

LOL!

Thanks for the tips Charles, the white protective things, yeah....I was looking to paint them but I may just ditch em' because paint will peel.

Speedo's - LOL! I'm in Australia! it gets VERY hot over here! Yeah, I shall swap them though ;)

GPU plate = That's on my "To - Do" list. I just want to sell it so I can do another one! I'm craving to do another build!!!

BIG UPDATE!

My case is sitting in about 20pieces next to me, I'm giving it an overhaul.

I just ordered some more MurderMod parts (Thanks Charles).

My plan is to get a new graphics card, do a dual loop with the CPU/Chipset in on, GPU in the other. I don't want to give too many secrets out yet ;)

Powdercoating the case should be done as soon as the MM parts get here, after that, I simply have to wait a few weeks so I have enough funds to order some stuff from the US.

I will be starting a new worklog as soon as some parts arrive and I decided on a name :yepp:

STUNNING....SIMPLY STUNNING!

Sorry if the question has already been asked, maybe i read over it if it has. How have you mounted your 2 HDD's? Are those just longer screws? Do you find any vibration / noise resulting from the way you mounted them?
