Hello guys,

I'm having a hard time deciding which combo I'll purchase to match with my future Samsung 2253BW (1600 X 1200)...

I was wondering if gettting 2 4850 in CF for 330$ would be a better choice than going with a single 4870 for 290$...

I'm a bit scared these 4850 will warm-up my case a lot and will make a noticiable sound if I raise the fan speed to ~50% on each...

Help!

Well the 2x4850s will give better performance over the 4870. But for the resolution you will be using the 4870 is more than powerful enough for anything you throw at it. It also costs less produces less noise and less heat. I would pick the 4870 personally.

Always better to have one over two. Leaves you more room for expansion later, and you can always add a 4870X2 a little while down the line and run Tri-Fire.

Generally you always buy the fastest single GPU you can afford, then go from there.
