View Full Version : CPUID HWMonitor 20C diff?!

What's the diff between CPUTIN and core #0-3? The bios reading is identical to the CPUTIN reading. I obviously like the CPUTIN reading better but not sure if it's right.

At idle:
CPUTIN = 24C
BIOS = 24C
core #0-3 = 40-46C

That CPUTIN reading is very likely and onboard sensor which may not even be related to the cpu or socket.

ok...thanks. i'll stick with coretemp. seems to be close enough to accurate.

core temp is reporting the numbers you see under the "Intel Core 2 Quad" section of HWmon... which are the temps you see posted all over here when people ask what are your load temps for your processor..

either one, I was just saying ignore that little section labeled "temperatures" in hwmon... the others for GPU, Cores, HD's, voltages, etc.. are fine...
