As in title, any one know if the new GFX2 waterblocks will fit the new 4870X2?
Thanks

You have to remember, not only do you have to cool the two gpu chips but also the bridge chip and I don't think the GFX2's will allow you to attach three of them.....don't even know if there are screw mounting holes around the bridge chip. I really think you're going to be fated to a full cover block for the X2.

im planning to get two of those..i hope they will fit..the only solution i see though is a unisink to go with the blocks..

As long as the holes are typical of a 3800 or 4850/70, it will fit.

It does. But an air heatsink/fan might be enough. Don't hold me too it.

hole spacing same as on 3870x2 = no fit

full cover or NB blocks only way to go :(

Fit the GPU cores? Yes.

Though, as others have mentioned, the bridge chip is a problem.
I am not sure cocerning passive HS cooling, but I would think that a small NB HSF would suffice.

genrics_user said they are the same mounting pattern as the 3870X2's and those you cannot mount a normal GPU block on. plus u have the bridge chip, etc etc. however if maybe the mounting is a bit different than the 3870 and you can fit those blocks you'd have to trim down that stock copper cooler to cool your Bridge chip etc. without interfering with the blocks
