Got my new computer on friday, first time putting it together myself and it's been a bit of a frustrating thing thus far, after getting numerous corruption errors trying to download anything I reformatted my HDD and had to remove a stick of my ram (2x2GB) to avoid an error I was getting trying to install vista, right now I am only on 2GBs of ram and I am installing all drivers / updates / programs / games without a hitch. I need to know what DIMMs to put my RAM in.

My mobo:

My ram:

My ram DIMM slots go A1 A2 B1 B2. Last night I had it in A1 + A2.

The manual says, of the A and B slots:

B slots: "Supports one pair of modules inserted into either the yellow slots or the black slots as one pair of Dual-Channel Memory configuation."
A slots: "Supports one modules inserted into either slot as a single-channel memory configuration."

Appreciate any help.

Yep, sounds like one of the RAM modules might be bad. RMA time IMO.

I've had a set of Patriot RAM before (256x2) and one of the modules was bad, I've tried everything possible to find out what the cause was till I removed one module by one and found out that one was bad. It has happened with some Corsair I got as well.

As far as which DIMM memory goes for Dual-Channel? Well, you use the color coded ones, yellow & yellow or black & black for DC. At least that's how it goes with Intel based chipset boards.
