Can you select a 5 divide below 166 FSB eg Run the chip and memory at say, 160 FSB but keep the PCI bus below 33 Mhz.

To put it another way

Can I select a 5:3:1 ratio whenever I like regardless of FSB.

/M@tt hope that makes sense

Welcome to Xtreme:)

I haven't tryed myself, it may work but I don't see why you would want the PCI so slow.

I'll confirm it does work as I did it by mistake myself. My only concern would be why you'd want to...because you'd be dropping the PCI and AGP busses out of spec at lower FSB levels. I'm not sure what effect that would have...but I don't think it would be favorable. System cards seem to tolerate higher out of spec running with ease....its pure speculation what effect lower out of spec running will have.:)

Thanks for the replies Guys.

I want to rebuild my server which has a SCSI raid card in it so want to keep the PCI bus as near to standard as possible.

The server is built for "up time"

The Mobo at the moment is a BX133 @ 124 Fsb 4th divide, so I know it will work fine at lower than 33 Mhz.

I want to overclock the chip and memory though :D so around the 166 Mhz 5:3:1 would I think be the best bet overall.
