July's topic is sharp. It can be anything from a razorblade to somebody dressed sharp as long as it contains something sharp. Everybody get creative.

-=Rules=-

1: Pic must be taken the in the month of the contest. No digging through the pics you have taken the last 5 years.

2: You can only submit one pic, and no changing your mind later on.

3: The image must fit on the screen at 1024x768 excluding the user bar on the left. Basically it must fit the post window without having to move vertically or horizontally.

Please include a sentence or two with your photo describing what you were trying to achieve and if there were any particular challenges in doing so.

We're all enthusiasts here, so it's also great to see what equipment you used and the settings too. So please also include the following:

Camera Model:
Lens and focal length:
Aperture:
Shutter Speed:
Sensitivity:
Post processing:

I learned photography with a 35mm SLR, and shooting in black and white and with ISO 800 was an attempt to go back to that grainy film feel that I grew to love so much.

EDIT: I did not slash up that tree.

I don't do photography, but my missus does as a hobby, not professionally. Would it be OK to submit one of her images?

I hope so, she takes some damn fine photos. I could have lied and submitted her work as mine, but that would be shameful :shakes:

Yep, can't be beat, for the price/performance. Too bad it's the only lens I got though, very limited.:(

Hooray for 1.6x crop bodies, making this lens a not-very-telephoto-and-not-wide-angle-either lens ;)

I was going to do something macro but it was just so boring. I couldn't get the look I was going for. So here is a somewhat serious portrait shot. I still need to get more lighting but I made due with what I had. I can guarantee the scalpel that cut my son open was sharp.

I don't even know if there should be a next month's topic. There isn't very many people posting. I don't get it.

Aww, come on, it's only the second month... this month we definitely had more people than last month. Just give it some time, more people will participate as the word spreads.

If you need help with the monthly prize, I have some stuff...

YugenM

Holy crap, I'm winning. (Poll says until the 31st, so I don't know?)

We should definitely have a next month's topic, it's a great way to see how other people see the world.

On another note, getting a D70s soon :D

Okay next month will be "unusual perspective".
Unusual perspective can be anything. You could see something every day and be unintersting but if you take a different approach to the shot it becomes intersting. You can use any trickery you like including fisheyes, ect.
