Hey everyone...

Now while i wait for vincent (bitspower) to finish with those off center adapter's i need to finish my v2000 tri-loop(He quoted mid may).I decided to do a wc'ed lan build using this case...

Lian li v350

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2007/10/lian-li_v350/b03.jpg

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2007/10/lian-li_v350/b05.jpg

http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2007/10/lian-li_v350/b22.jpg

Ok....

The hardware i will be using.

e8400
asus p5e-vm hdmi m-atx
xfx 8800gt alpha dog edition
2gb g-skill 800 ram

etc etc

Watercooling,fans and air coolers

D-tek fuzion v2
mcr220 (if fits)
Feser red uv tubes
koolance 3/8 compression fittings
res- not sure yet
pump- most probably Laing ddc 3.2
(cpu loop only)

hr-05 ifx on nb
hr-07 duo on ram
zalman gpu cooler z1000
scythe s-flex 1600rpm

I have most of the hardware.Just waiting on the case to come into stock. So while i wait planning will be 1st thing on the list on things to do.

Now.I'm hoping i can fit the mcr 220 in the front where the 2 120mm fans are.Need suggestions on res and pump placement. Also not sure what res i could use in this small case.

Thoughts?

Got the lan build up and running.

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc30/disruptfam/lanpc008.jpg

Now the watercooling...

Need opinions on slim profile 220 rad. That will perform decent with 60cfm fans.Mcr220 is out the question as it does not fit too wide and too long.So has to be smaller than that.Maybe a black ice pro or stealth whichever is less restrictive iirc the pro is.

Changed it up a lil bit from original plan, will be using a ek supreme acrylic.tygon 3/8 5/8 clear tubing (sleeved black, thanks Charles) and some bitspower 3/8 5/8 fittings.Haven't chosen a pump or res yet,Leaning towards a mcp355 and maybe t-line to save space.

:up::up:

i'll take some more pics tomorrow.Night at the moment so give you guys some layout ideas.

Swiftech res will be perfect here or something like fass-o-matic by innovatek

yes i was thinking a swiftech res,but even that is huge for this case.I'am open to ideas.

when i get my res's back i will see if i have the space for that.

Yeah i was thinking the same thing.I need a res/pump solution that will fit in 2 drives bays.

Not the easiest thing to accomplish,I may go with a drive bay res....Maybe i'll give the bitspower res a try???

How about a t-line since space is an issue.

06-30-2008, 07:40 AM
man i envy you, thats a nice case..

really the mcr220 is too long? your only going to cool
the CPU right? i just dont like the stealth series all
that much. my mcr220 takes on my 360GTS Xflow easy..

i like the the thermalright, especially the NB.

i dont really like that res, looks too bulky. maybe a 3.5" bay res?

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/images/products/350%20bay%20reservior%20BK_01.jpg

you could mod a bay cover to accent the res better.
or maybe even a 5.25" bay res. no wait i got it..

be back in 10

Yes i was thinking of something similar to what evil did....

http://evil98.insanity-asylum.com/computers/dayandnight/68.jpg

how would one go about filling bleeding this...its very short.

evil-98
06-30-2008, 07:49 AM
its acctually pretty easy to bleed,

1. because the loops are soo short
2. the fillport threading is G1/4 so i just added a fitting and a foot of tubing to fill.

you know what i mean?

well i fill and bleed the loop a few times and i get spot on with the amount every time

no, most of the time, yes there is going to be water left. unless you do get the right
amount. which can be achieved, but all i did was pour it out :yepp:. or you can just put
paper towels around it and just unscrew the fitting.

how do you feel about cutting and fabricating? and how extravagant
do you want to get?

i think the bay res would be best right now, and im imagining a
side window which would look wicked nice.

man are you sure a mcr220 wont fit! i keep looking at it and it looks
fine! lol.

Cheers evil, yeah I'm positive it will not fit without modding the case.I will be getting the panels lasercut, the two side panels with windows and the front panel with a design not sure of what yet.Still haven't decided on a build name.

cheers mate Still have to sleeve the mobo power and cpu power connectors yay! fun :( lol

You can probably notice i have no front panel or side panels atm.As i mentioned earlier.I'm getting them lasercut.

Two side panels simple lasercut windows to see internals. And design cut on the front panel.Tbh i kinda like the look of the no front panel very stealthy hehe

Now design wise for the front panel.I can get preety much any design cut.

Just need to find something that will suit

What do you guys think for the front panel design?

disrupt here is my advice bro.

get rid of that alpha cool and drop a lcd panel there. A real lcd panel.

Grab a cheapo pci videocard with svideo and use the lcd panel off that card.

If you can mod, a 5 inch touch screen would be uber sexy on that.

Anyhow CM tought me this trick. Once you get that second lcd setup, you then install a program called samurize. Its an awesome program.

Set the second LCD to extend windows, and load samurize just on that screen.

Samurize works with other programs to tell you coretemp, gpu temp, cpu speed, voltage, ANYTHING YOU BASICALLY WANT, on that little lcd screen, WITH a custom background, or custom gauges. Your imagination is the limit to what it can display. :D Totally something for you bro.

As i said true definition of SEXY!

That etching is HOT.

Etching would be killer if you could conceal the lights. Evil, that illustration would be sweet!.

I too vote anodizing over PCing assuming we're talking about the outer case. LOL.

disruptfam, this project is getting me moist in bad places. :D

red anodizing inside could be really amazing. For front bay keep it clean and pure, lian li are made to be simple.

Hey charles you are moist because of doing too much shot of murderbox by 38° ^^

Ok I've done raging demon before, but whats a kara demon? from the video it looks like its a small raging demon?

But yea that guy is bad ass. Does fireball in the air, and if you pick Super Akuma he does 2 of them in the air. What a cheater

I've read some stuff on him in wikipedia a while back; pretty interesting story line. Defeated his master etc. =p.

I will look into that remember the size of the case...If i was going to get the window laser etched it would have to be small...

I agree that etching is a lil hardcore for this build. But maybe something a lil more conservative would work.

LOL,for the anodizing what colour would be best?

Black in and out...if so what type of black?

http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/images/large/anodisecase.jpgAnodized looks pretty nice

red anodizing inside could be really amazing. For front bay keep it clean and pure, lian li are made to be simple.

Cheers yeah i thought it was a magicool,Does anyone know how magicool's perform? iirc they are fairly low restriction wise, but no thermal results

evil-98
07-03-2008, 07:31 AM
that would suck if the only thing you can use was the magicool...

you definitely need to show me why other rads cant fit..

oh and i dont msn

edit:

from the looks of Tremeloes's v350 looks like anything can fit
http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s287/Tremeloes/_MG_8883.jpg

lol the rad is held by rope!

http://www.abload.de/img/caseinnen67q.jpg

im assuming you want to mount it like this right?

http://www.abload.de/img/lian2kgn.jpg

this one looke magicooled too

http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/3226/84801927mo2.jpg

why cant you do it like this?

what size rad is that??? that wouldn't work with a mcr220 it be over the mobo!!!

disruptfam
07-03-2008, 07:48 AM
OK i can confirm a mcr220 fits!!! just and its so tight that it bends the drive bays in.And I have severely scratched a new mrc220 to get it in there!!!!

afaik evil all those are magicool rads and are 120mm wide or just over 120mm mcr220 is 128-130mm wide..It does fit but its extremely tight and it may be too long to fit the side panels on.... i have to check

evil-98
07-03-2008, 07:57 AM
well you better make it fit! :yepp::rofl::up:

yea there are magicools, if anything rise it a bit
cut the top off the fan mount and slot the holes
wait that wouldnt work, the MCR220 is thicker. hum.

make it work, you can do it

edit:

magicools are 121mm which is surprising
