Hi guys,
Asus sent me a P5Q3 Deluxe to play with and "beta test", and I've just had some quick rounds with it and one of my E8500s.
I'll be posting results, ideas, bugs and tips 'n' tricks in this thread.
BIOS releases will also be posted & linked in this thread.

I'll do my best in maxing this board and taking every part of it ( and other part ) over the limits no matter what, so...let's start with the initial, "get to meet" things ( more to come soon, I need to make some changes to the testing rooms and also organize my stuff and take care of my gf as well ).

Current config:
Core 2 Duo E8500 Q807A510
Asus P5Q3 Deluxe ( BIOS v0804 Beta )
CellShock DDR3-1800 8-7-6-21 2GB Kit ( Micron D9GTR chips ) [ orange slots at the moment ]
Corsair HX620
ThermalRight Ultra-120 Extreme

550MHz FSB, DDR3-1650 6-5-5-16, Performance Level 8, CPU @ 4.4GHz

This Pi was run before I found out that it could run stable at the same clocks with PL8 instead of PL9.

I don't remember the exact "scores" on my P5K3 Deluxe testing, but it looks like P45 is "tuned" for low memory frequencies yet maintaining low latencies & high rates ( bandwidth ).

More to come... soon ( maybe tomorrow :D )

Nice,how about some PI?

Pi tests coming soon m8, just trying to get a grip on some stuff and then I'll start "playing" for real :D

For the CPU voltage, the ones with the little thingy that's half red(capacitators or something like that),how do we do?Just put the multimeter reader close to it?

I should've mentioned it :D
Wherever the spots are, there's a pin underneath them ( on the rear side of the motherboard ).
The capacitors near the LGA775 socket for example have two pins, one up and one down, the upper pin is under the red "circled" side of the capacitor, and the other pin on the other side ( white side ).
To measure the voltage there, you need to set your DMM probe in contact with the lower pin ( the pin under the white area of the capacitor ).
The same thing applies to the chokes, they have two pins, one on the upper right corner and one near the lower left corner.

Let me post a picture of the rear side of the board with the spots marked :)

Edit: I don't have my camera here, so you'll have to wait.
I'm off to bed now :D

Hi

I have used this card two weeks ago and, even if the FSB was incredible, clocking ram was quite horrible, and there was a lot of bugs with that damned 702 bios. Some skew suddenly disapeared, boot too long, sometimes no boot, even with safes settings.

So what about the bios at the moment ? I don't have the car yet, and 'im wondering if i'm gonna buy it, becaus several bios are already online, and i heard that it was pretty good.

Thanks ;)

It's getting better with the new BIOSes, it's still not perfect in terms of RAM overclocking, but it can get better, and it looks like it will.

Looks good for intial test...

Like ur style to do it this time...

Keep pushing it...

i have measured my vdimm at the nearest point to the RAM slot pins. my vdimm is +0.03 higher than BIOS setting.

is that 900MHz 6-5-5-x timings i'm seeing

now that's nice :D

The RAM can handle that with "normal" volts, MemSet is incorrect this time though.
The RAM's at 1440 if I recall correctly.
Haven't tried my max 6-5-5-x with this board yet.

ey m8, tried the board with a quad yet?

think i'll get one too.. now that the evo is an everyday battle

Haven't pushed it with a Quad yet, I was/am focusing on dual-cores, particularly some E8500s first ( trying to combine things to compensate for the less time these days ).

i get this motherboard, i must notice vdimm drop.
setting 2,00v to bios give 1,97v ad idle and 1,91v at FULL.... isnt good i hope asus fix it.

Have you used a multimeter to measure your RAM Voltage or are you basing this on software readings ?
Because mine overvolts quite a lot if I recall correctly ( will be sure in 1-2 days as I'll be testing the board again )

multimeter of course.... software havnt much affidability.

i didnt know if there a is something in the bios for stabilize voltages... i only put 2,00v on ram voltage and start mesouraments on idle and full...

i did mesouramntes @ 1,90v and the multimeter give 1,86 IDLE and 1,81 FULL...

edit: i have 0902 bios... if can be help

have u tryed new bios ?? you can reach the same frequencies with rams ??

i tryed 0904 and i cannot be stable at 1800 8-8-8 1,9v but with beta 1102 i am stable....
i tryed also 850 6-6-6-18 2,3v but i cannot be stable with both bioses but with x48t-dq6 i am stable @ 900 6-5-5 2,2v...

any ideas?

Didn't have the chance to test any newer BIOS on the board this week, and surely not today ( was outside most of the time ).
But tomorrow I will play with it a bit.

0704 is considered old nowadays :p:
We're on 1103 and moving on.
