Best digital camera for 200$?

canon a590 or sd1100, depending on which style of camera you want for your father.

i have a sd1000 and its nice and ive used the sd1100, both are very sleek and easy to use.

and between maxxxracer's chooses i would go with the sd because of the style

At my work we use them for taking pictures of damaged laptops and it does a good job. Focusing can be a real pain because you cant pick the focus point , but after a few trys (per shot) you can usually get what you are looking for.

I like to find the high dollar cameras used on ebay. You can find killer deals by doing that, say a 1000USD camera for 200USD or so. They are all over ebay.
