Hello all!
I've been working on my computer for about 6 months now and I decided it was time to share it :) I was working with a TT Armor for a while and after modding it I decided it was huge. I wanted a case that was compact and could fit my rads. I looked at Mountain Mod cases but the smallest one would require my rads to be external. The larger cases were too big for my liking. After all of this I just decided to build my own :p The whole goal is to be able to fit my PA120.3 and my PA120.2 in a small case. I ordered about 10 5052-H32 Aluminum sheets (same stuff MM uses) and a bunch of aluminum angles from here (http://www.onlinemetals.com/). I had been drawing the plans on paper for a long time when I was bored in school. Then I started to build it on google sketchup. I finally started working with the metal and will be updating my log here. After I finish the case part of the log I will go through the water cooling part  Note, I did not copy mountain mods.. this is my own design and hard work, please don't call me a copier or I'll be sad :(
Thanks for reading :) Lets start the build!
Hm.. heres something to let you think while I upload all the pictures, the cases dimensions are 18"L x 12.75"W x 13.75H :)

Heres what I'll be using for the side panels, top, bottom etc...they are 24"x24" and im using a band saw from sears with a metal blade for everything...i have a wood shop not a metal shop -_-

Nice...custom made is a great way to go, you can plan everything out, no surprises. Just be sure to factor in cable routing early so you can create the right spots to hide all of those cables (I keep learning this the hard way).

What I REALLY love about your worklog is that you show us how you do it all including showing the tools. I don't know alot about this stuff but desparately want to learn . . .your thread delivers. Excellent cutting! I am too lazy and would just draw it up and send it to a laser/plasma/or water-cutter shop for the panels if I was doing my own build. My hats off to you talented people who can do this awesome work!!!

Great job so far!
A small suggestion, order some single-flute countersinks, that is how you can get a super smooth shiny cut on your countersunk holes, even when using a hand drill. Multi-flute countersinks are almost impossible to prevent chatter unless you are on an automatic machine.
Don't forget to get 82 degree instead of 90 as well, they match the angle of the screw heads.
Also, kerosene wd-40, or even household oil will greatly increase the lifetime of your taps. (I get lazy and skip cutting oil sometimes but it really gums up your taps with aluminum, reduces their lifetime, and makes an inferior hole finish)

I agree, I actually do a good bit of sheetmetal fabrication as part of my day job, and although attention to detail definitely comes into play, most of ability comes from access to the correct tools, and knowledge of their use.
Not everyone has access to some of the stuff that I do, but a lot can be done with basic hand tools, albeit not as quickly/easily.
I will be posting a worklog for my OCN case mod comp entry here in the W/C forum on July 1st when our worklogs go public, I've done a lot of sheetmetal work on the log and will be posting pics of the tools I use, and making a list of "must-have" professional tools that are within reasonable financial reach of your average modder.

My case is finished getting powder coating and is being shipped back today. I will have a big update when i get it
but i've ran into a problem, my plan was to use an ek supreme for my Q6600 with a DDC-3.2 and a PA120.2. I read that my single pump may not be strong enough to allow the ek supreme to perform well. I can't upgrade pumps or use another one due to space but i can get a d-tek fuzion v2 with quad plate. What should i do? EK Supreme, or D-Tek Fuzion V2 w/Quad Plate :) ??

have you tried martin's flow estimator? i don't see no problems with a ddc3.2 with top and the ek supreme and PA120.2 rad, you'd still reach around 1.5 Gal per minute, which is a great flow.

Did I read you plan on mounting the rads on the swing down doors?
yeah, so he can take the doors and the rads with him when he travels, and control the loops remotely :D
(other option is "airplane style", doors remain open and attached to the case, while the whole is attempting to fly...better temps! :D )
OK more seriously: very nice build, subscribed :)
