I'd like to thanks Ashraf for doing all the modding :D Since im too noob to do it. I got the idea from Maxishine's rig found here:

http://www.maxishine.com.au/documents/upcomming_project.html

Its almost exactly the same as what im planning to do.

System specs:
Intel C2Q Q9450
eVGA 280GTX
2x2gb DDR2 1000 G.Skill Ram
2x 640GB AAKS WD Hard Drives
Undecided on the mobo, most likely Asus P5Q P45

Still deciding on the Watercooling, but i will have a 360mm Rad in the front, cooling the CPU, GPU, and NB.

Sketchup:
http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/8436/armorsuitsideje8.th.png (http://img402.imageshack.us/my.php?image=armorsuitsideje8.png)

Basic mods, Painting the inside black. Motherboard holes. and ofcourse the side panel.

Ashraf shouldve received the case today, so pics coming up soon

Here's pictures:

When I saw this box, I thought the case was probably damaged too.

But, no. It came out OK.

So far, the case is sweet! The size of the case is exactly the same as my PC-A70. I am not sure why they called the PC-P80 "Super Full Tower" because I thought it meant it is bigger than the standard full tower.

Anyways, I am going to put it on hold until tomorrow or Friday. I need to study for the exam tomorrow. :(

Wow, very nice pictures  i wish i knew how to take pctures like that

Thats a 120.3 Rad, with a EK 250mm Raditor, and a fillport on the top.

Hmm, i still need ideas on my side panel. I would like some random design, and not just a plain old square, but me nor Ashraf could think of anything, so any suggestions would be nice. :D

Also, Acrylic behind the "MUSSAFRY" or a mesh dsign and let it act like a vent?

Thats what i meant, the window on the left. I dont know what kinda shape i should make it. I think a plain old square is boring. Any1 got any ideas?

Other then that, whole WC setup and all the components should be arriving this week. Cant wait!!!

Not sure how far you'd want to go with the window, but my suggestion if you wanna keep the lian li theme throughout could include a round window with the lian-li logo etched into the acrylic. Though it is difficult to do

By round you mean a circle? Or rounded edges? I dont think im into the Etched Lian-Li logo though.

Maybe this?

ok, i don't like your idea, but that is just my opinion.

i feel like you can do alot better than a clear window and just your name etched on it with such a nice case

put more time and thought into this, think about carefully placed components and tasteful mods

here's an idea:

Have the standard clear rectangle out of clear acrylic for the hardware then have another rectangle where your letters are now (more slender and tall) with your name letters etched or sandblasted in then lit up with leds mounted on the side of the acrylic so they stand out lit up. Then I'd put some metal mesh behind the letters to keep from seeing a possible mess by the drive cage. You don't want to obscure the view of the hardware with a tacky M right in the middle.

Are you powder coating the inside? If so, let me know how much it sets you back.

No, not powder coating. Flat Black metallic spray paint.

Got some new ideas from Ashraf:

Will that case take a EATX MB(12x13")
and what is under the 'bump" on the top?
Air space or something hidcden in there?

The case does take eATX, and under the bump theres a built in fan controller. Only one knob though, controls the 3 front fans and the top exhaust.

Mind if I ask how you got that side for this tower? I love how it looks. Would love to have this for my tower also, it's the only downside I see for this tower. I can't see in my computer and it drives me nuts.

Went and bought some screws for my rad, damn they’re big! Mounted the brackets Ashraf made :)

My goodness what happened to the rad? And why are you using long bolts (threaded rods?) to mount the fans/rad? Those fans have open corners, and the stock self-tapping screws should be just fine, right?

EDIT: Sorry they are closed-corners. But then longer self-tapping screws should do the trick.

Thanks! No guide. I had to wash the case to remove oil/grease/etc and then sanding it with 400 grits before priming. 2 coats of primer (6 primer cans) and 2 coats of metallic black (6 spray paint cans).

Oh good, at least that's just glue. :):) Can you show how you managed to get the bolts in that way?

mussafry
07-24-2008, 07:56 PM
Its not that hard. Just buy the screw, with alot of nuts that fit. Hold a nut under the screw hole, and just put the screw through it and twist it and make sure the nut doesnt twist. That way it screws on. then put another nut on top. Just don't screw it in to far, you don't want to hit the fins.

Its not that hard >_< Hope that makes sense.

I dropped those long screws. They couldnt hold everything tight enough, need to buy some new screws. I mounted the pump in the case, internet in my house got disconnected cause i never paid for it :P So it might be a while until i post pics.

I also had to drop the EK D5-Top :( As i cant mount the bracket with that on, and i cant use the compression fittings cuz i cant cover the top hole since the fitting is so big. Ill post pics later, once i get internet :P (At a friends house ATM).

Should look alot cleaner when i get these screws. Can't wait :D

No offense to Ashraf who did an amazing job on this case, you can consider these (http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=332&products_id=21047) to mount the rad. They are perfect for long 5.25" bays.

For screws to mount fans you can use these (http://www.petrastechshop.com/1blstthfansc.html) from PTS.

Oh and please don't ditch the EK D5 just yet. I'm sure down the line there will be brackets for it.

The brackets for the rad that i have is good enough :P

I dont knowe about the EK D5, by ditch im not gonna return it or anything. Ill just not use it. How do the people that have it actually use it? I mean you cant even make the pump stand straight.

And the Screws, I dont want to order screws, id rather buy them from a local hardware store. I was thinking 6x1.5" because the ones that should come with the rad were 6x1/2". and since the fan is exactly one inch :P I tink they'll fit.

Another update :D

So after i ordered 8 fittings that didnt fit my tubing, i ordered another 4 that does. Except... i cant use it anywhere  Other then on the CPU block.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00416.jpg

It doesnt fit on the VGA card nor the pump, and i didnt want to use it on the res.

Pissed me off that it didnt fit on the pump... with the EK top that is:mad:

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00410.jpg

Not enough room to block the second hole.

I also got a bracket for the pump, then realized i cant really use it on the EK Top, so pretty mch the EK top was pretty useless for me :P.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00412.jpg

So i just ditched it:

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00413.jpg

then i mounted the pump in the drive cage.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00418.jpg

Works pretty well imo

Now i went back to the rad, the threads i used before were so ugly, and were really not that functional. So i went and bought some screws (I shouldve done this from the start!!) Looks so much better/cleaner now.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00420.jpg

Then went back and mouted it in the case, FTW!

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00426.jpg

Then after an hour or 2...

Ready to leak test!!

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00427.jpg

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00428.jpg

had to switch the CD Drive and Fan controller, so i can actually use the fan controller

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00429.jpg

Drain port:

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00430.jpg

I dont know if you guys can see, but i had the OCZ ram cooler, and i use a screw that had a kinda of a big head. and cuz the VGA is so damn big, it was kinda pushing it down, it looks really retarded now :( Its bent and crap, you can tell from the pictures above, that why i dont have the ram cooler on there.

But then i mouted it again, but its only mouted from the top, nothing holding it tightly from the bottom.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00432.jpg

i just hope nothings wrong with my VGA card, when i look at it, its like slanting downards really badly. :shakes::shakes:

Well, thats it for today. Im really tired, but i might go ahead and leak test while i go to sleep.

mussafry
07-27-2008, 12:04 AM
I just hope my VGA works :( I cannot be bothered to RMA it :( well, try to.

oh, and thanks :D

Edit: Bad news >_< I was pouring the water slowly through the fillport and got so many leaks. What bad luck. All the leaks came from the places i used zip ties. The drain port, and the top of the res. How gay.

I also got a leak on the VGA cuz i didnt tighten the closed barbs tight enough, and i was sure i did it with a wrench before i even put the VGA in the mobo. I dont know, all this bad stuff happening... i dont know :(

mussafry
07-27-2008, 01:45 AM
After trying to fill the loop for like an hour, it was so frustrating. I think my res is cracked, the barbs are on tight, but it still leaks from the barbs on the top and bottom. The left and right ones are fine.

I tighten them even MORE with a wrench, still no help at all. The bottom drips like a few drops every 15 seconds. And the top, a puddle just piles up there.

So after like half a liter of Feser one (what a waste) i think i need a new res.

I took it out, nothing seemed broken though :( I dont know. Screw this, im going to sleep >_<

I just hope i didnt ruin any hardware /sigh.

N3it1
07-27-2008, 02:41 AM
That being said next time do leak testing without the hardware. Also plummers legendary white tape for the win.And make that GPU>CPU tube little bit shorter, that prolly helps and its getting straightened.

Ashraf
07-27-2008, 05:05 AM
Oh man, you didn't use this PTFE Thread Tape (1/2" Wide - 50' Roll) (http://www.petrastechshop.com/ptthta1wi50r.html) to seal the barb threads, did you? Are zip ties tight enough?

mussafry
07-27-2008, 07:42 AM
No, didnt you had to use that >_< It wasnt the zip ties, it just leaks on the top and bottom. like a few drops.

Kibbler
07-27-2008, 07:47 AM
No, didnt you had to use that >_< It wasnt the zip ties, it just leaks on the top and bottom. like a few drops.
Is it leaking between the hose and the barb, or between the barb and the res caps?

mussafry
07-27-2008, 07:50 AM
between the barb and res. I took the res out, ill test it out. But ive got an exam tomorrow, so i might do it tomorrow.

update: Well, took the res out. Tightened all the barbs TIGHTLY. Then i connected tubes and poured distilled water, nothing leaked -_-. So, put it back in the case, filled it a bit, its starts dropping water from the bottom, but the top was fine. Sigh.

Drained the system, took the res out. Gonna go buy some white thread and thread the bottom barb, thats all i can think of doing.

mussafry
07-27-2008, 10:25 PM
Well after a hard time trying to leak test it, i finally got it to not leak. Let it run for 4-5 hours, then i finally turned it on.

Here are a few pics:

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00438.jpg

Moved the tubing of the drain port, looks better that way.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00439.jpg

i need to do something about the PCI-E cables. Theyre too short to be routed behind the mobo, and i dont like them being there :( Might have to buy some sort of extension.

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00441.jpg

I dont know if i should turn that white light over the "Rogue Gaming" On the board off or not.

And here are the temps: :)

http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f49/mussafry/DSC00443.jpg

Thanks, still trying to figure out how im gonna drain the system when the time comes  You cant see the water! And i know for a fact that with my setup the drain pipe takes MOST of the water, not all >_< FTL!

Just gotta move the case all around to get water out.

Its looking really great, although I am not crazy about the tube between the GPU and res. Maybe look into getting a BP 45* rotary fitting when they become available? If you could get it to not leak, i would try to use the bottom outlet on the GPU block

PS i like it w/o the white light on the mobo

Absolutely LOVELY mussa! I'm getting a PC60 and will be doing a very similar mod :)

Can I ask why you changed tubing?

I liked the look of the black tubing better. Nothing wrong with the old one :P

I was thinking of making a similar setup. Have you reversed the airflow in the case or are the fans blowing the hot air into the case?

reversed? looks like he will have cold air in from the front, thru the rad, out the back.

Would it be better to have the front fans blow the air out and have the top and back fans blow it in? That way the warm air wouldn't warm the insides of the case. Is one 120.3 rad enough to cool the system or do I need more. I'm going to have the same setup as here but my parts are:

Asus Striker II Extreme
Intel CORE 2 QUAD Q9650
MSI GTX 280 sli (maybe later 3-way)

One more thing. If a second rad is placed next to the first rad, would it help at all as the same air goes through the both rads? There would be room for the second rad if the pump is placed on the bottom of the case. Another possibility is to fit a slim rad sideways at the bottom of the case as in my drawing at my thread here:

You want cold air going thru your rads. As long as CPU/GPU/NB/etc are happy, the rest of your case couldn't care less about warm air.

My temps are pretty good.

SB/NB Were low 30s at stock.
Mobo was at 23 and Psu was at 30.

I want to get some type of after market coler, im trying to OC and i dont like the temps of my NB. Hitting low 60s :(
I have my Q9450 @ 3.8 after 4-5 hours of p45 max was 49c. Cant seem to go over 3.8

How are the temps on your GPU? If you are interested I'm putting the same rad the same way you did. Also trying to fit more rads inside the PC-P80. I did a rough 3D model of the case so take a look:

my gpu temps are 34 idle anf 39 load. I never thought about having a second rad, but why not have one on the side.

like this guy http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/showthread.php?t=197718

PA120.3 in the front, MCR 320 on the side with a vent on the side panel.

what is the distance from the bottom edge of you motherboard to the bottom floor of the case? looking at feasibilty of putting a rad down there sideways a la Tj07
