E8400 on 8 multi with MARS

aegis panel wont read the 8 multi correctly reads 9 multi correctly but slect 8 multi in bios with cpu at 4.2mh 526fsb and in windows aegis panel shows 4.7mh 591fsb ??

rig in sig & using G29 bios now with the 1.0.2.15 aegis panel

what are your windows power management settings?
could it be windows is lowering the multi to save power?

so you set the power management option in windows to performance/full speed?
please check it, there are a couple of people who had the same problem as you and it turned out to be caused by the cpu power management driver in vista/xp

if this isnt the problem here, could you please post as many details as possible?
does cpuz read the cpu speed properly?
what os version are you using?
service packs?
latest updates through windows update?

messed around with all settings and a lot of reboots & nothing still the same on the 8 multi :confused:
just put in a CoolIt unit and would like to get this one done before eye start the Black Ops build :D( hate leaveing things undone )

chopper max multipkier for E8400 isnt it 8x? maybe u can use 8.5x but no go for 9 isnt it? thats for E8500?

everything works great :D just wanted to know why the aegis paned reads incorrectly at 8 multi , havent tried 6 multi yet ... eyema speed freak notta fsb freak ;)

love this board hasent let me down ever and had 5 different cpu's on it so far and all have gotten to 4.0 or better :up:

yes cpuz and bios + others read it correctly only aegis panel & speed fan read incorrectly

biz trips can become trips feel for ya ;)
no biggie no hurry just got me confused , didnt happen with any other processor eye have just this E8400 of course it's the only one with an unlocked multi for me so far

I can confirm this bug - the Aegis reads every multi wrong when you don't use default iirc.

i just talked to the aegis panel programmer, hes busy working on the new panel, once thats done he will have a quick look at this.
cpuz and other tools read the cpu multi properly, right?

eye dont clock from windows ...havent trusted that kind of software in a long time

I had the same issue with my E3110 and now with my Q6600. I use the 8 Multi and Vista recognizes it as 9. Example right now I am at 8 x 475fsb on my q6600 and the bios displays 3.8ghz but vista displays cpu speed at 4.275ghz. All other tools displays 3.8ghz. Doesnt bother me much. I got used to it but it does irk me on occassion.

edit: and why da h3ll can't I get my opwer options to stick grrrrrr -_-

after updating from .14 to the .15 aegis panel thier wasnt an oc button either .. maybe that will help you

so the fsb is read incorrectly when you use the multiplier of 8?
and this happens with other multipliers too?
only in aegis panel right?
or also for the windows MY Computer display? does it also read the cpu speed incorectly?

hmmmm so windows doesnt detect that you set a lower multiplier?
and aegis panel also thinks your using a multiplier of 9 right? hmmmm

yes ! thats it !... aegis panel only see's 9 multi correctly ...yes it say's 4.7 at 591 fsb on aegis panel when it really is on 8 multi at 526 fsb.. every other program reads corectly execpt a few that dont count like orthos & speedfan but my computer reads correctly & bios reads correctly the multi & speed
