Download Setfsb, and try all available clock generators. You probably will find one which works. I didn't want to open my laptop to look what clock generator chip i have, so i just tested all the generators and found 3 of them working.

You should also get Notebook hardware control and set vid to lowest setting for all speeds if stable this add some battery time

Yeah, I gained half an hour of battery life on a 1.86 Sonoma (6 cell), 45 minutes on a T5500 (6) and a full hour on a T2330 (9). It works really well.

actually if i recall from the last time i tried NHC it doesnt work for newer laptops.
use RMClock to lock the multi at the highest and also drop down the vcore to a nice lower vcore.
you have to tern off some of the cpu T1 C1 E1 functions in order for it to lock all the time at the highest ghz.
you also need to tell us what laptop it is. somet hings work for some laptops some dont.
you can also grab I8kfan and it will or should allow you to set the fans to high speed all the time, or based off cpu temp. if its a Dell laptop....
