Hi!
I have a problem. I canT go over 450Mhz FSB on Foxconn Mars with cpu E6600, if I use 8,7 or 6 muliplayer. If I use 9x multi I can go above 425Mhz FSB on 1.7vcpu.
I tried many diferent voltages in Bios, but no efect, the sistem no boot.

My sistem conf.:
MB: Foxconn MARS
CPU: E6600 batch#L636F007
RAM: 2x1GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 DHX (big alu heatsink)
PSU: LC 6550GP v2.0
Gpu: XV 8600GTS 850/1100 (vgpu/vddr mod)

Thx for any advice.

Have a look at this tutorial by Shamino, its very helpful

are you sure your E6600 can run a higher fsb?
ive had one that wouldnt even run 440 stable :D
what memory divider are you using?

hm, It look like my E6600 canT run a higher fsb. I saw so may tests on this cpu and they reached fsb over 500Mhz. Becouse of that I was thinking I have a problem with mine cpu.
So, I also try on Asus P5B (i965) Vanillia and the same problem or worse. It was not stable on 450x8, on MARS it is.
So, what do you think, my E6600 have FSB wall on 450FSB? This is bad luck.

what do you mean divider? FSB : Dram ratio? When I go over 400FSB, always have 1:1.

Try with 6 in multi.

If you can get that to lets sat 500 fsb then it is not an fsb wall in your cpu.

BUT that dosent say 100 % sure that you will be able to get 8x500 but maybe 7x500 will work.
99 out of 100 times it is just a question of cooling and Voltage to get the maximum fsb you could reach at 6, with max multi

yepp, and since is a 65nm cpu high pll and vtt voltage isnt a problem, and those do help a couple of cpus to reach higher fsbs.
so try pll up to 1.9v and see if it helps, and try higher vtt (vfsb) step by step to see if it helps... and bump up the vcore to 1.5v and see if that helps as well... but only do this if you can keep the cpu at good temps of around 40.

and definately try different memory dividers to be sure its not a bug with a memory divider/strap or the memory holding you back

Thx, for ideas, but doesnT work now even on 450. 445Fsb was max when comp boot.
Try set vPLL to 1.9v and vTT to 1.68, NB to 1.5.(max), PL to 12
And also try on multi 6,7 and 8. "Nada"

Now have 425*8=3400 Mhz and divider 1:2.4 and memory works just fine on
510Mhz 2.3v(1020Mhz DDR2).

thats very high vtt... did you try a bit less vtt? maybe 1.5v?
even at lower multipliers you cant get a higher fsb, right?
it sounds like your cpu is fsb limited... : (

try another cpu in this board or another board with this cpu to check if you can...

You need to try 1 thing at a time.
Applying all of them at once will give you NO info ;)

First lower down to 6 multi.
Boot.

Enter windows, Try and get higher with Foxconn´s OC tool.
Then run superpi and keep climbing until it fails :)

When you reach max try adding 1 steep of 1 Vppl and try again at the place where the system failed before.

Increase 3-4 bumps maximum and it dosent work go BACK to the starting point and try the same thing with VTT.

This way you can be 100 % sure if one of the states increasements will help you.

GIVE US ALL DETAILS YOU CAN :D

Very thx for tips, but no better result
First I try 448*6 and boot normaly.
On 449 didnt. So I try raise votages and
I saw that the point have only SB & PLL becouse I raise one step more, I think it was 1.58V and system boot on 449*6.
Then I try FSB 450 and end of game, system donT boot even I raise SB &PLL voltage in steps.
Yes, I tried combined all voltages but no efect on 450fsb.

I am 100% the cpu have FSB wall.
Now I have it on 425*8(3.4Ghz) on 1.51vcpu. On lower vcpu system didnot response very good.

Thx anyway.

boot with 445 and then use aegis panel or setfsb to increase the fsb in windows :D
and make sure the memory doesnt limit you, and set the chipset and cpu voltages accordingly... i think its only a chipset timing thing, so when you try to boot higher the BIOS sets a different chipset timing but it causes some issues for some reason... just speculating here, but give it a try :)

Maybe you have a freind with another Quard ?

Then you can try his just to make sure it is your cpu that is the limiting factor :D

I try before with SetFSB in XP and when I go over 450 sistem freez/stop. Where in Ageis panel can raise a FSB?
I donT think memory doesnt limit me becouse is working fine on ddr2 1020(510Mhz) 5-5-5-18. I use 1: 2.4 strap I think.

Ow and about bios, last I have G30, now have D16. I saw on quantum force P14 bios version but I dont see what is new in this bios. Where could find samo info about new bios?

EDIt: Ok, i download the lastest v. of Ageis p. and now I see that can overclock in this program. This I see first time.
Try to overclock and on 450fsb work, 451 dosnt work anymore. System halt.

hmmmm very weird... so exactly at 451 it freezes but 450 is stable?
sorry but atm there are no changelog files for the BIOS versions, but in future there will be :)
