Why is that?

Not an EK. Look at the website its made @ EVGA in California.

Do you get one card or sli setup?
Hope D-tek comes with an unisink for those heaters soon.
Would be cool with a mcw-60 :)

I'm very interested in a picture from the back of the card.

I don't know what your talking about

this is a great block. Heavy impacted all copper block with great internals. choice of both 1/2 and 3/8" with worm clamps included... Guess your just stubborn or ignorant..

its obvious evga moved away from the innovatek style and i praise them for it.. the price however needs to be lowered..
remember more competition only benefits the consumer..

So does is this block classified as a single slot block or is it still double? Pondering Tri-SLI, but really want to use my Xi-Fi card.

I think the block is low enough to be a single slot solution.
Stupid thing is that EVGA still has the double bracket mounted
So you could swap that with a low profile bracket.
On the other hand the block might be to thick for single slot so taht's the reason EVGA left the dual bracket mounted.
BFG has watercooled edition that's definatly single slot.

If you have a 790i, you can use a PCI-E X-fi or an Asus Xonar in the uppermost PCI-E 1x slot, and yet have Tri-SLI.

hi

after intensive investigations , i found already 4 guys with same PSU (TX750W) and GTX280 with the same problems (no boot) , im also using TX750W................

one >> http://translate.google.pt/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.asktheramguy.com%2Ffo rums%2Fshowthread.php%3Fp%3D353896&sl=de&tl=en&hl=pt-PT&ie=UTF-8

two >> http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.asp?m=429995&mpage=1&key=

three >> YOU

four >> ME

aparently ( not sure , just my guess) the GTX280 only work with TX750W using the pci-e adapters (both 6 pin and 8 pin ) , if you use the TX750W pci-e cables card wont work

you already test using both pci-e adapters bundled with the card ???

i will try tomorow too see if thats the problem !

but i think is too strange all this ppl with GTX280 problems are using TX750W ...........

I believe the beep came from my motherboard meaning it could not initiate the graphics card.

Will the back plate from the waterblock interfere with the sound card in the black PCI-E slot?

Yea you really need a good single rail power supply. The quad rails are having alot of issues with the cards.

There are just a lot of DOA with the GTX280
One of my three cards was DOA, screen turns on, but stays black.
Very annoying when i noticed one card was dead after 2 hours of trying to enable tri-sli
RMA'd the card and everything works like a charm now

Why not use the 6 and 8 pins cables that come with the PSU ?!

Planet
06-30-2008, 07:37 AM
Because the cards require alot of amperage and most of the time they put the 6 pin and 8 pin on the same rail and it cant deliver enough amperage.

This makes me smile :)
He was talking about the Enermax Galaxy, the same PSU I run my 3 GTX280's on.
So it is no problem to use the modulair cables that come with the PSU.

Yep, and i have the older model (bought it almost 2 years ago) which doesn't have 8 pin. Well, i get the card shipped from Germany to Thailand - RMA would be a major PITA...

Mango31

Card is here and DOA... I am pissed beyond believe. First boot - one long and three short beeps. I reseated and it booted without beep. LED shows green. Unfortunately the monitor doesn't get a signal...

That's just unbelievable.

Man, that's super-frustrating. Especially with the prices of these cards dropping like they are, you guys should get a refund for all the time you need to spend waiting on RMA's.

i think that Tri SLI GTX280s take about 750 watts total system power. and if your running more ram or more HDs and CD drives you might need more then 800 watts to be safe
