Hi there guys, how do u remove/clean the oxidisation/tarnish on most full copper heatsinks? I'm having a problem with my NB HS(using a SK6+ on it), it seems that after around 3 months of it running without much cleaning, quite a lot of oxidisation appeared on the copper surfaces, is there any special solution that's easily available that i could use to disolve it or something in the way of at least cleaning off the tarnish?

Hope to get some help. Thanks in advance.

Soak it in white vinegar for a little bit. It will shine right up and clean it well. Just rinse it with clean water after and let it air dry. Make sure it is completely dry before you reinstall it though.

Tobasco or habenero sauce, works excellent:)

Thanks for the tips, and i was thinking i will never be getting off those really bad tarnish.

Tweaked! Won't Tobasco or Habenero sauce be hard to clean off? Nevermind, i'll give white vinegar a try first as they are easily available from the grocery shop just within the avenue i'm living at. Have to go out to town to the hypermarts to get the Tobasco though. ;)

that'll remove the oxidation but won't be good for thermal conductivity. use very fine steel wool.

Ketchup is actually one of the best.

Also it was just proven by Mythbusters, that Coke cleans copper pennies very well and chrome excellent. That's all you can do besides drink it.
It does clean copper overnight very well though. :D
