For me it is very buggy on mars...with different multipliers it shows too high values and additionally it is too big considering the window size itself. I prefer something like smart guardian where you have all relevant informations in one small window - that's better to keep on top and for screen shots. maybe I can get on the wishlist with that ;)

yepp, i prefer a memset like look as well, keeping it simple and focussing on the settings and not so much on the bling bling :D
ill forward your feedback :toast:

i like aegis panel ;)

and it working as well I want :D

but my favourite program for ocing in windows is clockgen but I think he never comeback :(

and memset ofc ;)

saaya
06-20-2008, 04:58 AM
you dont like setfsb?

i really like the cpuz look... memset, coretemp, setfsb... they all kept it simple, functional, classy and timeless :)

FatAlbert
06-20-2008, 05:37 AM
lets think about this ;)

setfsb won't work on amd platforms so I have to use aegis panel.

re blackOps Aegis Panel,

Temps dont work for NB & System, Cpu is OK

ps using latest version on the website

LardArse

You're on MARS or Black Ops?

blindfitter
06-20-2008, 11:47 PM
Sorry my bad,

I,m on Blackops, just got it, havent upgraded signature

here's pic, also, although its displaying cpu temp it never moves from 34C like when running wprime1024

imho CPU is not ok. For me it seems that the temp reading in Aegis for CPU in fact is System temp. I verified with HWMonitor 1.08.0

edit: new aegis panel 1.0.2.32 shows temp readings correct now. tnx :-)

saaya
06-22-2008, 05:12 AM
ok, so the latest version works for all temp readings?

StellaNor
06-22-2008, 06:01 AM
At least for me it does and I compared with HWMonitor, which reads exactly the same :)

Not sure if this is relating to the Aegis Panel, but I just measured Voltages according to measure points Sham linked in another thread.
CPU Vcore set in BIOS 1.275 - Aegis Panel read 1.27/1.25 - DMM 1.260/1.244 idle/load
VTT set in BIOS 1.200 - DMM 1.117
VDIMM set in BIOS 1.916 - Aegis Panel read 1.98 - DMM 1.879 (slightly off reading in Aegis)
VNB set in BIOS 1.406 - Aegis Panel read 1.43 - DMM 1.230 !? (measured @ closest VRM (O36 on the PCB) to the NB) - either this is not the right point where to measure or something is wrong there. When increasing amount of Voltage for NB, the corresponding Voltage changes but does not reflect the amount of change.

LardArse

for blackops, vtt for 45nm will be 0.1v lower, cos def 45nm vtt is 1.1 vs 1.2 for 65nm

StellaNor
06-24-2008, 10:53 AM
Yes Peter I know about the VTT, thank you anyway :)
Can you or someone else please confirm or check Northbridge-Core-Voltage and compare reading thru Aegis-Panel/BIOS and digital multimeter?

I dont have the read points.
If yoy provide them Im sure Pederss can check for you!

So here they are - no warranty ;)

Ground I use from somewhere of the connector-chassis. Maybe thats the reason for wrong reading of vNB?

of course :)
the cubicle of the guy whos doing the tools is right behind me, let me check if we can make aegis modular so you can chose your own backgrounds :)

EDIT: just talked to him, atm he doesnt have time for this as hes working on the new version for an unreleased board.
The next version should have a theme matching the board it comes with, but you will be able to select a basic version which will make it look like cpuz/memset/coretemp. and then after that we will try to add an option that people can select their own colors and backgrounds.

if the spot your reading doesnt have a ground spot assigned to it, id recommend you to always use the "ground ring" of the screwhole of the board that is closest to the part of the mobo your measuring at.

Aegis panel reads:
29 cpu
29 system
36 nb

BIOS reads:
33 cpu
30 system
37 nb

higher reading in bios makes sense as the bios loads the cpu more than beeing idle in windows.

Aegis panel reads:
3080.48mhz cpu
2054 memory
100 pciE

same as i set in BIOS, so everything ok here...

Aegis panel reads:
cpu 1.28v idle
dram 1.96v
nb 1.73v

BIOS reads:
cpu 1.27v idle
dram 1.96v
nb 1.72v

same as Aegis panel... slightly lower vcore but thats most likely since the cpu is more loaded in BIOS than sitting idle in windows.

Now let me check reading the voltages with a DMM

HDCHOPPER
06-30-2008, 08:08 AM
thanks saaya ! you guys rock !!

saaya
06-30-2008, 08:56 PM
thanks! :toast:
was so caught up in emails and pms and forum posts yesterday that i actually forgot to post my DMM readings :D

Aegis panel reads:
cpu 1.28v idle
dram 1.96v
nb 1.73v

BIOS reads:
cpu 1.27v idle
dram 1.96v
nb 1.72v

DMM reads:
cpu 1.288v
dram 1.959v
nb 1.790v
vpll 1.509v
vtt 1.100v

All readings are spot on! :D
Except for the nb voltage which seems to be 0.05v higher than what is set in BIOS.
I changed the setting and its always 0.05v higher reading from the MOSFET than what i set in BIOS.
I talked to the engineers and they said the best spot to meassure the nb voltage at is C357, which always reads 0.05v less than the MOSFET :D

So it seems the nb voltage is set correctly and read correctly in BIOS and displayed correctly in Aegis panel :)

PS: I meassured vcore from the top inductor that is closest to the boarder of the mobo and placed in an angle to all the other inductors

Thank you Sash :-)
My NB-DMM reading was wrong due to a faulty ground. So everything reads fine here.

saaya
07-01-2008, 02:07 AM
really? so even whe you read from the MOSFET directly you get the right vnb now?

with IE and FF... weird... could it be cause im in asia and you guys are in europe?

EDIT: could it be a time thing?
Wasnt the original QF forum only available for 12 hours a day or something weird like that? :D

We are aleady working on getting files hosted elsewhere, so dont worry, should all be fixed soon :)

I dont think its anything with us being in europe, I just tried all 3 of my accounts in IE they all login, It could be just to do with a 'flash' plugin needed
by mozilla to view the page?

The only reason i didnt try IE b4 is because I just dont like it. however I will suffer it for the cause.:D

hmmm well it works with ff for me too... no idea...
and ff always updates by itself, so we should all be using the same version hmmmm maybe it was some server or network hickup?

how about amd overdrive? do you like that tool?

FatAlbert
07-04-2008, 01:55 AM
AOD doesn't work with nf780a :(

better than AOD is clockgen+memset or Aegis Panel + Memset.

AOD is for AMD chipset for this moment I don't have board with this chip.

have you got my pm ?

saaya
07-04-2008, 02:00 AM
yeah, i got your pm :)
oh my bad, i keep confusing nvidia and amd chipsets cause the names are so similar :D
and nvidia doesnt have a clockgen or aod like tool?
how about ntune, doesnt it work? :/

FatAlbert

ntune work and he told me "You have got the fastes cpu o earth and you ram is insane" :D

hmmmm so even 4 years after nvidia introduced ntune not even the basic function work?
meh... so what features do you want added? multipliers... anything else?
just make a thread in the suggestions section about this :D
It will be the first thread ever in that section :D

With 790iSLi boards (striker extreme/evga) NFORCE system tools 6.0 works fine with both mobos. ALL settings work including multiplier. Are you using the newest versions(6.0)? It is no longer called NTUNE. Never tried with 780a though so not 100% about that.
I have heard others say it doesn't work and from my experience the only times it doesnt work properly is if I install new mobo on old OS sometimes I run into troubles with the software or I us eolder gen software with newer gen mobo. Good luck Albert.

big thx for the advice Vince :D

yes I tried the 6.0, but doesn't work.

"NFORCE system tools 6.0" is for nforce "intel edtition", SO ? :D:D

now I downloading this tools, might he is working on a 780a ;)

(...)

there is only one things which work :D

survey of temperature xD :P

edit

it's work :D:D:D:D:D:D

I can increase htt but with 2mhz steps :)

I can see this is for intel. In the option I saw GTL voltage and cpu voltage (both blocked), multi is lock too (even if I want to change him down but I can live without this :D:D:D)

big thx one more time ;)

aaa

and the speed of the pcie is wrong, but who carries about that :D

firefox2 works for me and others, so it sounds like a FF3 issue? hmmmm

good to see ntune is working after all, at least some of the settings work :)
