So I've been using the same old Opteron 144 setup for the past some time, always wanted to get a decent upgrade but never wanted to drop a few hundred bucks.

Yesterday I saw the Black & Decker VPX system on sale at Canadian Tire, so I finally got myself a set of tools (a knife just wouldn't cut it).
$160 for the whole deal: jig saw, flash light, driver/drill, 14v drill, 8w AC/USB power

$10 mitre saw

Having never ever touched woodworking before, I decided to build a simple rack for my TV computer using 1 1/2" by 3/4" sticks. Tough built, any joint can withstand dropping on the floor from 3' high. The power switch is the only ghetto looking part, I just couldn't find a way to mount it, yet.

It took me about 5 hours in total, from picking up the pen and paper to cleaning. Gotta tell ya, it was FUN

Next on the list:
Get a precision power mitre saw (the manual one wobbles, and doesn't give a clean cut)
Build a work bench, convert my study room into an apartment 'garage', build a dining table, a better TV stand, then a computer case for my good o' opteron - water cooled.

Nice job, especially for a first wood working project!
