well you could just sell the 9600 and wait for the next gen cards

Sell your 9600's.
Wait 2-4 weeks.
Get the next gen ati or nvidia card in July - the performance is supposedly 1.5x current SLI or Gx2/X2 card performance.

ok... but is it sure that these cards are coming in 2-3 week cause when i was waiting for the 9600 lol they came 2 week after ... i was so upset...and these are just rumours as theyre is everytime a new gen of gpu gets out so

wath i mean remember when the 8th serie came out.. the next day theyre was remour of the 9th serie for like 3 month and still goes on... and why would nvidia get a new serie out they are owning ati like hell... and there not a game that cant be run..like i run crysis at very high whit 35fps avg dx10 at 1440-900 so why would they release a new serie it just dosent make sense..

sorry for my english

would you sell your 9600's locally for $400? i think getting $400 from people on the internet will be hard, seeing that the card sells for $130 now. the gts isnt all that much faster...maybe 12% about 10 fps

the new Nvidia cards will be released the week of June 16 and the new ATI cards will be released the following week. these are not rumors. i've seen pictures of all four new cards coming out this month. and all four of them will be faster than an 8800 GTS (the 4850 might be about the same, but it should cost less).

i don't know what availability will be like in your part of the world because i don't know where you live, but they are coming out this month.

the fud on the GTX 260 is that it will sell for about $450 when it's released. the GTX 280 will cost a lot more, but the 260 looks pretty good.

i think it might be about equal to 9600 SLI on SLI-friendly games. it will obviously be faster on games that don't scale. they'll be out next week, so the speculation will end soon.

If you have a display with a such low resolution I don't see any reason buying two 8800GTS's and replacing the 9600GT's. My advice is to buy a new bigger monitor (wide 22" or 24") and after that upgrade your videocard(s).

if you can make 450 or whatever, go for a 9800gx2. Why would you even bother with a dual card set up that probably wouldn't beat the 9800gx2?
