Thinking of using this Koolance Quick Disconnect fitting for a drain port, wondered if anyone has used it before: http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=361

Wondering how well they seal and if that fitting also swivels (they have swivel normal elbow fittings)

I know their restrictive, but its just for a drain port connected to a T block.

I would recommend using one of the shutoff nozzles from the VL2 or VL3 series. From my experience with them I’ve found them to be very tight yet easy to connect and disconnect. If you need them to swivel you could use a swiveling 90 degree fitting like I used in my worklog.

How does my SIG look now?

Ermmm, I know this thread is kind of old but can anyone explain to me or maybe provide some pics as to how you drain a system with a Koolance QDC? +P

I can grasp the idea but I can't seem to picture it out.. hehe.. new to water cooling here

Thanks in advance!

You buy the matching QDC, aim into a bucket, and connect the fitting. Or you whip out a pair of garden sheers, hold a large bucket underneath and hope for the best.

Yep, i just added v4 qdc's a few weeks ago. You just buy an extra set, plug them in and you are back to an open loop. Much easier than having to pull tubing off of a barb.

...or if you don't like the restriction created by qdc, you can use D-Plugs like this along with 2 transfer cases for either end.

I would be worried about one of those popping out, especially if you move your case around. The QDC seems like an infinitely better solution to me since restriction doesn't matter.

I find them super tight but I didn't read the OP properly about it just being used for a drain port. Yes, the qdc would be better I think too.
