Is a drain port needed for draining a loop if the case cant really be tilted?

Planning on using a Mountain mods case, and I cant really see tilting that on its side, and the pumps are going to be on the bottom (has a horizontal motherboard brace)

If I hooked up any drain ports it would really have to be on the line coming directly out of the pump or it would probably be too high to really be effective.

But is it really needed? Can you drain it by uncoupling one of the lower connections (like from one of the compression fittings from the pump) without making a huge mess?

Your call, really.

If you can arrange everything so that it's entirely downhill for all the fluid, pulling a tube works just fine. Unfortunately, you usually run into grief from a radiator or block that tries to force the water to flow uphill. Or you get a situation where the water refuses to leave the system until some air comes in to replace it (in other words, try to position a bleeder screw/fill cap near the top of the loop). And remember that when you pull the tube, you'll have fluid coming out of TWO ends, so be ready to catch it all.

If you can't do all that, you might want to serious consider adding a drain T near the bottom of the loop to make things easier.
