for ram get the gskill non pi (u can gt pi but it wont help and may get in the way, powerchips run cool)

It doesnt look so terrible comparing to the DFI and other x48 boards:

I saw also other tests and this board is quite good. The expansion ports are way the best. Anyway, there are drawbacks like the blackplates and the so-so bios.

since when dose toms matter, here is what u have with the gigabyte

1) limited bios
2) unstable voltage
3) cheap analogue pwms
4) bad sata placement
5) they like to overamp ram and kill it

it only scores high on stock becouse it uses tight non oc subtimings then when u go to oc it fails becouse the ram is loosened, but dfi scores bad becouse u have to configure it (who would have thought that u had to configure a board or it would perform bad)

i'd say go with the x38 mobo...ddr3 isnt much faster then ddr2 at all...and the new socket for intel shoudl be out late this year neway
