I have been asked to tell my work what computer they should buy me. I work in usability/graphic design and need a set of system specs to put forth but i haven't really caught up with all the latest and greatest technology.

So heres what i'm thinking so far ... (price isnt really a problem)

* Intel Dual-Core at the least, quad core most likely.
* 27" EIZO LCD
* NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600

I would like more than 4gb of ram, has the 64bit support application software and driver support improved enough to make it worthwhile?

What MOBO, HDD and DVD should i push for?
What would u ask for?

Thanks.

i think that u should go dfi LT x48, 8GB gskill 1066, and 2x 4870, there is no point in NV workstation a 3870 will take out that card solong as it dosnt run out of memory and the 4870 will have 1GB so a pair of those will be about $600 and take out anything from NV (ati has the same drivers for the workstation and non workstation and they work in maya, solid works, auto CAD ext... from the hd3 and up)

as for HD samsung 1TB f1 in raid 0 or raid 5

and u dont realy want that card do u, wouldent u rather get the new ones out in a month, that have real CUDA support if u go NV, and the x48 will still be what u want since u would want a CUDA and grafix and not sli
