Well I've decided to build a new pc. My cooling goals are to provide adequate cooling to a q6600 and a 8800gt with a water cooling system. I do not plan on o/c'ing at the moment, but may decide to do so in the future. I would like the system to be as quiet as possible. I also have never built a wc rig and since I work as an IT consultant, I consider it one more skill I need to learn.

I have done some research, and based on my budget, I'm pretty set on these items. Basically I am just hoping someone can look over these proposed items and tell me if there are an glaring mistakes I've made, things I've missed, etc. I am ordering the items from performace-pc, and when you add to cart it asks for fitting sizes you want, so I assume the fittings are in order. I'm going with 3/8 ID tubing throughout, mostly because I dont like the look of 1/2 and even if I do o/c, it will not be to max levels.

Thanks in advance!

yea the fuzion (either) when run without mods generally yields the best performance. As daf just said, that resevoir/pump combo reigns supreme for aftermarket pump tops, according to Martinm210

That fan looks a little bit weak sauce, may be fine on your case but for the rads you should consider something with more potential (then under volt it to 9v or 7v for sound - u can pick up a sexy fan controller that fits in your 5" bays). This would give you some breathing room so that if you do want to over clock it or just reduce the temps u don't have to buy new fans you just crank them up a notch.

I will look into that pump top. Guess I have to decide on a pump now.

I plan to re-visit the fans, but the total system cost is getting extremely close my total budget, so things like fan controllers are not really an option. If I do plan to get a controller, I need something that works with linux. It either needs to have no drivers necessary, or linux drivers available. I refuse to run Windows in my home
