Hey, i was looking through the newest version of cpu-z and i noticed that it read that my dx version was 10 when i had service pack one installed, which should mean that i have 10.1. anyone else having this problem?

Maybe it just can't detect dx10.1 yet.

But you shouldnt even be using DX10? You have a 1950XT, thats DX9.0L...?

true, so it might just be a bug then with cpuz. my 1950xt is dx9.0c

Technically 9.0Ex, the Vista version of 9.0C. 9.0L was the prerelease name for it. Heres what wikipedia has to say:

Direct3D 9Ex (known internally during Windows Vista development as 9.0L or 9.L, the L standing for Vista's codename: Longhorn): allows full access to the new capabilities of WDDM (if WDDM drivers are installed) while maintaining compatibility for existing Direct3D applications. The Windows Aero user interface relies on D3D 9Ex.

u cant have 10.1 only the video side of 10.1 is in use since its the same code as 10.0 but uses some option features as mandatory, the sound isnt done yet so as of now vista has dx10.1 video and 10.0 audio available, so its 10.0

and thats not the cards dx rev listed in cpuz thats whats installed ont eh PC, and dx10 software has the "9.0L" code for 9.0cb/c cards so aero works

if u run dxdiag then the DX software version is on the 1st page on the bottom, then the hardware capability is the DDI on the top right of the display page
