View Full Version : Best NiMH D Cell Batteries (Rechargeable obviously)?

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can guide me to a Higher Capacity D Cell Battery than the ones on Radio Shack's website....

Radio Shack: 1.2V/4500mAh Ni-MH Rechargeable Batteries - 2-Pack "D" (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062142&cp=2032056.2032148&parentPage=family)

The batteries on this site are a lot more expensive per battery, but have 10,000mAh and 11,000mAh ratings...

Anyone have any experience with this brand or style of battery? My wife and I are tired of changing out the rechargeable Battery every coupe of days with our AA to D charger (AA to D Snap-in Adapter (http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/p1_AA-AAA-9-Volt-Rechargeable_142609_Business_Supplies_10051_SEARCH ) from Staples). It's for our baby's vibrating feature on our crib, it helps her go to sleep.

It just does not have the capacity to go more than two days tops. It's the 2000mAh Batteries. Great AA's but not enough juice to use as a D battery in a shell...

I've used Powerizer AAA NiMH batteries and they didn't perform bad at all. You can try to give those a go, but they are a bit cheaper as the plastic covering over the batteries may peel off.

From what my memory recalls, those Powerex batteries were overrated. They have high mAh, but don't live up to that. The discharge rate isn't high, and they don't last very long either. These are AAA's also, but I expect the D ones to be about the same.
