Hello XS

This is my first watercooling build, as such feel free to give me some criticism along the course of this project, it would be much appreciated as i can learn as i go ^_^

My case, of course, is the lian li 343b

I've already modified it somewhat with a couple fan enclosures along the right side as you can see, along with 2 fan controllers and a hard drive cage on the bottom left. Pretty standard stuff :)

Here's my collection, recently delivered from aqua PCs in the uk. they forgot to send my tubing but sent it next day with a couple freebies, deffinately gonna do business there again :yepp:

i'm sure i don't need to spell it out but i will anyway :p:
-D-Tek fuZion V2
-DDC 3.2 pump with XSPC reservoir top
-EK res 100 (i thought this was bigger >_> might get a larger one)
-PA 120.3
-PA 120.2
-10 feet of tygon (half in springz, not sure if i wanna use them yet)

I'm working on a second window at the moment and a powder coating before i start to actually put a computer in there. i don't think anything amazing will happen during this build as it's my first but you're all welcome to watch :welcome:

Update One:

http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/6550/imag0019xt5.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/6550/imag0019xt5.77b258aaf5.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=375&i=imag0019xt5.jpg)

i cut a second window today into my solid panel. well i say i, i mean my dad, he's better with a jigsaw then me :p:

http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/9559/imag0023rc7.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/9559/imag0023rc7.ae28712fc1.jpg (http://g.imageshack.us/g.php?h=396&i=imag0023rc7.jpg)

here you can see both side windows.

I've stripped out my insides as you'll also note as i'm about to get her powder coated. i'm gonna use coolercases UK's new service and see what i get. i'm gonna dye my water blood red to go with a somewhat 'vampire' theme so i'm at ends of what colour to paint it.

Also like to say Thanks to my supervisor in this project, he's driving me nuts lol

Update Two:

got my hard drive cage today, gonna send it away with my case for powder coating.

I've put it off long enough, time to start sleeving -_-

remember to dry your shrinkwrap evenly to maximise volume and give it a healthy looking sheen.

here's a glass of my own blood, i'm gonna use this to colour the water...muwahahahaa.

thats all for now, i got a hell of a lot of sleeving ahead of me, around 150 feet x_x

I would have bought a Mountain Mods case instead....Still a nice case but just doesn hold a candle to the MM...

i actually agree with you, unfortunately it was prooving difficult to get one i liked in the uk so i chose the lian li, i might regret it at some point :p

but hey i can always buy an MM down the line if i decide on it ^^

Why have the res top on the pump and a separate res?

jadeskye
05-23-2008, 01:46 PM
the res came first, then after further research i found that the res top was the best performer so i got one of those too.

is it a bad idea to use both in a single loop?

No point really aside from making initial filling/bleeding easier, if that.

good enough for me, i'll throw it in the loop :p:

good luck on this, keep the pictures coming. and you might want to resize some of them for those who have slower connections and smaller screens...

Thanks to you all ^__^ i'll keep posting, didn't think a simple build like this would keep people interested. As for picture quality i appologise x_x they're taken with my phone, of the many things i own, a quality digital camera isn't one, i'll see about borrowing my dads :p:

Bah humbug, this case is every bit a match for the MM and I'm not just saying that because I have one :P What else is going inside it JadeSkye. You can get a very good camera very cheap nowadays just have to look around.

i'm thinking about a good price to performance rig. a cheap intel quad core (maybe a 9450 or something) and i'll either port over my 8800GTS from my current rig or buy a new 9800GTX or something. maybe get a block for that too.

gonna attempt to cut a hole in the top of the right drive bays tommorow for my PA120.3

seems like such a shame to deface her :(

I have to agree with you. In fact, I like the 343B better and not just because I have one, too, but because I've set up an MM system before.

It's great to see more and more 343B builds.

That means a lot to me mjassbong.

Your project along with someone elses were the ones that inspired me to do my own.

might i say too that your lian li 343b is absolutely phenomenal. i'm having trouble fitting a single loop in my case, you've fit 3 and even cooled your ram. truely epic work.

343b is just noble. The brushed and anodized aluminum looks better than powder coating and the material used is very good. Better than the material in the Mountain Mod cases.
