Abit's MoBo plans???

In light of the T'bred problems Abit's been having with their KX7/AT7 boards, and the reported lack of mounting holes on their nForce2 offering, I found this article (http://www.digitimes.com/NewsShow/Article.asp?datePublish=2002/07/19&pages=14&seq=85) to be rather interesting.

It's obviously a financial move, but it may allow them to restore their emphasis on high-end products. Anybody got any ideas/comments/additional info??

It sounds as if they are going backwards to me. Even if they do focus on R&D, if they farm out the work, what kind of product can we expect. Who will they be sleeping with next? Looks like ASUS and EPOX will be selling a few more MB.
