will tell you all about the Maximus. Many use the Rampage bios on the Maximus(as do I).
So it comes down to is x48 worth $80 more than x38:shrug:

Yeah, I don't think the X48 is worth the extra money - you can flash the Maximus Formula SE to the Rampage (I did it, it is quite easy).

Thanks all, but after you flash the bios and flash it to Rampage it that mean it is just like a 100% Rampage? Or just faking the Bois and it became "Rampage"? Plus I have read the benefit of X48 just support DDR3 but Rampage doesn't support DDR3 at all, so what does X48 do good for Rampage?

Well I can say that I have 100% functionality of the Rampage bios. I use it because I get higher clocks w\ less volts. Both x38 and x48 support ddr3 (Maximus & Rampage Extreme).
Many claim that x48 is just "speed-binned" x38 , but I'm not sure what the real difference is. The only one I know for sure is that x48 is factory rated for 1600mhz fsb and x38 is 1333mhz. Hopefully someone who knows chimes in.
I would agree with Waymon and think the $80 could be spent better elsewhere

For the MF to be able to take the RF BIOS leads me to think that these 2 boards are electrically/electronically identical and the only thing that seperates them is a label and an ID that tells the RF it's NB is a X48 as opposed to X38.

More than likely they are binned X38's or they've improved the manufacturing process of the X38 and decided to call it X48
