My Crystal Orb is not doing its job well enough. Its time to upgrade...

Heatpipes will not fit on cards with tweakmonster ramsinks correct?

What is the best heatsink I can buy for my 9700? Im willing to drill through it to make it fit. Was considering using my SLK-800 but figured the weight would break the card after a little while.

Welcome to Xtreme:)

Just about any standard socket 370/462 copper hsf would do the job. As far as supporting it, you could always use a little tie wire from the upper portion of the case down to the one corner of the card that has no support.

i used my slk on my 9800, i used screw holes on the 9800 pcb, and screws to attach it.

Could this break the card out of the AGP slot, or break the AGP slot itself?

SLKs are a bit hefty

hoy! An SLK is a bit huge, but if you're using all of the screw holes, no problem. I'm of a mind to agree with Silversink though- I'm exploring the 1U heatsinks for my next vid card mod......

That new Zalman (with fan) should do the trick :)

Id prefer using a heatpipe but I have Tweakmonster sinks on the card, Im not sure if it will fit.

I took the ramsinks off the back of the card so it can now support a heatpipe, but which one is the best, the Giant II or the new Zalman? I have a 190cfm 120mm fan on the side panel blowing onto the vid card/

zalman

I have one for sale if you want one, it has all retail parts except the screwdriver, but any small phillips head screwdriver will work.
