I just tried pcmark05 as part of that OCZ contest. I didn't do too bad, but according to the bar graphs at the end my HDDs suck canal water - big time. Er, maybe. I'm not sure what the scores mean exactly.

I got (green bar):

hdd startupt 19.02mb/s (red bar 208.43mb/s)
general useage 12.34mb/s (red=189.18)
virus scan.... damn, can't read my writing but it was similar

I mean, wow, those are huge differences. And here I figured 2 10K RPM drives in Raid0 would be on the kick@$$ end of things?

Using IRam causes enormous scores in those tests, so people use it to get scores over 20k-25k. I have one 7,2K RPM hard drive (Barracuda 10) and I getting scores about 10MB/s in first, and 6MB/s in second test.

yeah the red bars are like 3 IRAMs in RAID 0. I tried it (3x iram raid 0) on Intel Raid 0 ICH9R (X38) but it bottlenecks at about 200mb/s. I just got in a raid controller card to let these babies loose! Although even on ICH9R the scores were very good, about 17k on an air cooled 8500 (check my sig its in my hwbot results).
