Someone i talked to told me to order it with 2 120mm fans, 2x fan shrouds, and the radiator. when i look at the pics, i only see one spot for a fan. is there something im missing?

Maybe they were suggesting a push pull, fan on each side? Or you got the wrong rad?

1 shroud on each side. The radiator at the top of my picture is the D-tek one with a 2 shrouds and 2 fans.

nikhsub1, did you buy that case or build it yourself? I was lookin to find a bigger case to put all my watercooling stuff in.

hey nikhsub, im looking at getting your exact same rad setup for my wc case, but im wondering, how long is the unit in total, with the rad, both shrouds and both fans on? im assuming that you have 38mm thick fans on the rad, can you measure the whole unit's length and let me know how long it is? its a sweet rad setup, i just hope i have room in the front of my case for something similar

Figure on 8 inches. It is 7 and a bit but if you give yourself 8, you will be fine.

nikhsub1, how did you mount the shrouds on your core? I have the same one, with two shrouds, but they gave me these threaded poles and 2 wing nuts for each, and from what I can tell, I'm supposed to run them between the fins, but they don't fit.....So right now, I'm using zip ties, but I wanna clean it up a bit...

You can buy the threaded rod down at Homedepot or Lowes, IMO they will cut it for you if you know what length you need, if not just buy some bolt cutters.

You have to bend the fins to fit the rods through. Once you get the tip in just shove it in there and it will go right through.

So then you should have 4 pieces of 6" long 6/32 threaded rod. Do you? If not, go to home depot and buy some 6/32 threaded rod and cut it (takes 1 sec with a hacksaw) to size. You need to go through the core with it, being careful not to puncture the vertical tubes, the fins don't matter so much. You will also need some 6/32 nuts to hold it all together, the wing nuts won't do it. Here is a shot of one core, you can see how it is put together.

I'm just a little nervous about shoving those rods through and cutting something open. Would rods smaller then 6/32 work ok?

Sure but the 6/32 work fine, I have done like 10 rads this way. Just make sure you go inbetween the VERTICAL flat tubes, those are the only things to watch out for. If you go inbetween them you will be fine.
