Hi, im running my E8400 @ 3.6 with 1.23125V (BIOS) -> 1.173V in CPU-Z and good temps... this is the first time i overclock so now i turn my focus into memory.

I have(probably crappy for the standards XS have but still) 1*2 GB Corsair Dominator 1066 5-5-5-15-2T... running@ 1066 with 2.1V

My question is, should i link it(400 FSB = 400 DDR2) or should i leave it at 8:11?
My second question(im clueless here) if i decide to link it, i would be "under" clocking my ram, would i be able to reduce latency?

Or how does overclocking ram works best?

i would do 12:10 4-4-4-10 if u have rev 1.x if u have anything else then stay were u are

also u should beable to do 1:1 with 800mhz and 4-4-4-12 with any of the dominator kits

I have the CM2X1024-8500C5D dunno if that rev 1.x or not or if thats what you ment.... so what would be better(ill try to make some benchmarks in 4-4-4-12@800mhz vs 5-5-5-15@1066mhz and find myself, but i little tutorial, explanation or tip you could add would be nice!

Thanks and kudos!

I benched with both using superPi and XS bench from real temps, its funny coz i get better results with 800mhz 4-4-4-12 @ XS bench and better superpi time with 5-5-5-15@1066mhz... but the difference is so small, it doesnt matter...

So going over 1066 would help? how to do it safe and without trouble? whats a good result?

your NB has the same ideal bandwidth as your ideal ram bandwidth is the same as your ram in 1:1 duel chanel so u want the lowest NS latency with close to 1:1, so 12:10 would be 960mhz and if u have rev1.x ram then u can do it in 4-4-4-10 were it would be lower latency than 800c4 or 1066c5 (they are the same ns)
