We have fallen way back on HWBot and we need to do something about it, your mission is to update your scores and move us back into first place where we belong.

Post your current HWBot score.
Update your score as you improve over the contest.
When we move into first place, the top ten contributors will win.
If we do not make first place by June 7th, the contest will end.
No moving points.
New signups welcome.
Worldwide shipping, everyone welcome.
Must be on XtremeSystems team.

Because he is asking for starting points I believe he means the top ten contributions of new points, so if you put up twenty points and only nine people add more than you then you are in the drawing.

I did a couple runs with a borrowed 6800GT until my 9800GTX arrives, I got 0 points after submitting 5 runs.

Hopefully after getting the 9800GTX and running my X2 at 3.6Ghz I should be able to gain a couple good points towards this contest. Poor Ol' Liberty 500watt is getting a bit dated but still hanging in strong with no voltage drops.

I've seen points show up a full day later, I think it depends on several things. for instance hw rank points may show up later than global points, mine changes all the time.

Normally the bot recalculates the points every hour, though, sometimes it doesn't calculate all results or some issues occur. If you submit in the evening, you'll see your points the very next morning :D.

Hm, never been to hwbot before... need to check it out though. Even if I don't win, I'm gonna try and help the team get to be #1 again.
One small question ahead: If I have a rig with great CPU power (Octacore) and another one with less CPU but more GPU power, can I use one rig for CPU and the other for GPU benches? Or does it have to be always the same one?

HWbot automatically seperates hardware based on what the bench is...cpu-reliant benches are based on which cpu is used, best score for each hardware counts. 3Dmarks are gpu-reliant, so best score for each gpu scores.

why not? if we can get 60 peeps to do 100 points we got it. 100 points cant be THAT hard to do... especially if you are just starting out and have a weird assortment of computer parts that you can throw together to get those points that nobody else can compete with. i.e. i have a cyrix 686 somewhere in my closet, along with a amd dx4 100mhz, p3's, p2, and a bunch of other ancient crap that is bound to be worth some points. ive got a full amd-k6 2 rig at my disposal... thats like 7 people to compete against... worth at least another 40 points for 3dmarks, aquamark, superpi etc. just stack the hardware and use hwbot like how its supposed to be used. get the best score for your hardware. for those of us without ss or cascade or dice or ln2 (i have none :( ) rigging up these old pos systems and benching them (just running at default) is worth points. best in hardware anybody? yea.. i will have the best amd 80486DX4 i promise you. and im only in it to contribute points.

wait and see my friend:) the key to HWBot if you don't get TOP 20 score is going for grinding, benching all the hardware you can get your hands on, until you get to the 300 boint limit.
Yes it's a lot of work, but XS is not a small community; I sincerely hope they make it :)

Heh...I may have to back off on the K6-2 thing...I haven't been able to get the heatsink off the K6-2-500 yet. LOL. It's been sitting for like 10 years and the TIM has turned into cement...heat, razor blade, and still a no go.

I did bench by K6-2+ 533Mhz today, couldn't sweep all the categories since wprime 1.55 runs slower then on previous versions of wprime. But once I get 8 hours to baby sit the peltier(no thermal cutout) I'll finish off the last gold cups for this chip with 32M SuperPI and 1024 Wprime(damn almost a clean sweep. haha). Kind of sad, I couldn't find my FIC 503+ motherboard so I had to use the DFI K6BV3+/66, not as happy with the OC, I had to relearn everything from the late 1990's! :rofl: I seem to remember getting this chip to 690, but I can't get 115FSB working on this DFI. The good news is that I found a wholoe bunch of relics to bench looking for the 503+ motherboard.

That said, benching this old stuff is stressful, I think tomorrow I will go back to QX9650 and see if I can raise 3d scores in XP instead of Vista..

It happens, I'm actually more glad the processor died than the board, the board was a gift but the processor was my own cash. It died doing what it does best though, 5350MHz 3D03 run, it was going to be a sick run too for a cascade :cool:

Ok, thanks pal. I had one 36 gig raptor in there but I have a pair of 36's and 2 SAS Seagate 73 gig that I haven't even tried along with a 2 port Promise SAS card..clueless on setting that up.

Submitted a K6-2 550MHz SuperPi 1M run--7 minutes, 58.177 seconds. Picture attached. I have been running WinXP Home as a limited user for this K6-2--but I hope they'll still accept the submission.

I'll make a run with a PII 400 (probably still at 400MHz, unless SetFSB and ClockGen work) and then my E2140 (3.248GHz). I'll be doing SuperPi 1M to start on the PII...

I'm pretty sure I'll be able to up my score a bit later... provided I can get a Super Socket 7 board that can clock and a few K6's of various models. Old stuff lacks benchmarks, so I'm in luck there. That, or see if I can get a PGA478 board that clocks and tear apart a few Dell Optiplex GX270s with PGA478 P4 2.8GHz Prescotts in them. As it is, I should have a 3.06GHz (IIRC) P4 LGA775 coming in a month or two... too bad it'll be too late.

Ahh, after tonight I needed the smile from this.
The X5482's I had have gone back to Supermicro BUT if Lady Luck holds out I may have a pair of E5450's to play with and those have a 9 multi vs the X5482's 8 multi..
And this memory, these horrid, slow,crap FBDimms will do 454, 450 stable, enough for a bench anyway..
And there is that WC system sitting on the Clover rig that will bolt right on the Harpertown board..:wasntme:

If you rank highly with your specific hardware, you receive points. If you rank highly among all the submissions, you also receive points. For example if you have an 9800GX2, benchmark 3DMark06, and score within the top 10 globally and are the 4th fastest GX2, you will receive points for both accomplishments. HWBot only awards global points for your fastest score in each category though, so SLI and CF scores will only count for the highest. You can get hardware points for everything though, there are lots of top HWBotters with hundreds of submissions only worth 2 points a piece :up:

Not that I know of Dave, I think there are some things you can do to make DX9 look like DX10 and act like it but I dont think Vantage will run with it...

Initial score don't matter, it is all about being one of the best in an individual hardware or benchmark catagory. Even a lowly celeron has a chance for points if you 've got the skills and a little luck.:up:

Just submitted a fury of scores (CPU-Z and the connected SuperPi 1M) for a Celeron M 353--actually the one I benchmarked is ULV. Anyways--I hope I can get at least 5 points--if not more since all my CPU-Z records topped the previous 996MHz and 2 of my SuperPi 1M were above the current record of 79.5s or so.

Ok well I have my results back from yesterday--CPU-Z and SuperPi 1M were both submitted and netted me 2.8 points a piece, bringing me to 7 points total. Added now a higher CPU-Z, SuperPi 32M, PiFast, and wPrime 32M--so I should have a few more points coming in. I ended up reporting someone's wPrime 32M score since they forgot about 40s and got a few extra points because of it--so now I should have best rank there. Celeron M 353--easy chip to overclock and bench. :p: Also I'm 1GHz stable--which isn't bad considering that the heat-spreader is the single thin sheet of tin underneath the keyboard.

actually i did a lot of them twice... apparently i was showing the motherboard in cpuz and not the ram timings :shakes:
yea... and then the screen saver would crash superpi... then energy saver shutting off the monitor would crash superpi...
it went a little faster this time around because i added an extra 256mb of ram and used softfsb to oc the cpu a whopping 77mhz! :)
im just glad to be done w/ that pos. in all honesty, if i were just going to browse the web, that machine is not bad at all. pretty snappy in all honesty.

now to crank out this p4... i just hope this asrock motherboard holds out.

Well I have a few more points up my sleeve--I just need to do some more stability testing at higher overclocks on my Celeron M 353. I went from 0 points to 14 points now from five 1st place and one 4th place finish.

Let to do:
SuperPI 32M at higher overclocks
Retry SuperPi 1M at highest overclock
wPrime 32M at highest overclock
wPrime 1024M at highest stable overclock
Get max overclock again and rebench PiFast &c.

Ok well I have a new wPrime 32M and 1024M scores--not submitted yet but they are better than before. I think I have a new PiFast as well--so long as I can run the bench I can get points, no matter if it's actually stable. I want to redo a few SuperPi 1M runs--my previous record is 78.58s, I want to shave off another second or two. If it's going to spit errors at me again, that may not be possible.

I should be able to net a bit more off of SuperPi 32M--I had a run at 1GHz but now I want to try again at 1053MHz--hopefully cut off a few minutes that way.

Uhm let's see.. I may already have a better PiFast--I know I have under 110s again from previous screenshots, again have not uploaded yet. I'll see what I did before, try to improve. By extension--I need to modify the eeectl extension to include higher overclocks--a few more 0.x. I think I can get stable up to 1.1GHz.

Did I miss anything? I may see if I can get AquaMark or something working--I'm running out of benchmark suites for this system, and I have filed a half dozen results for a few different categories already.

I was going to further benchmark this AMD K6-2, but I don't quite have the patience considering just how long it took to get a SuperPi 1M run though--478 seconds!

I am pretty much done with my old stuff. My celeron 700 gave me same nice points. Benching a celeron 433 takes lots of time especially if you go for gold and superpi crashes at round 23 (after 2:30h). My celeron 1.1a @440BX modded needs to run cpu-z and wprime1024 so some more points are coming.

Submitted a few more benchmarks... higher CPU-Z (1080MHz instead of 1062MHz), I think I may have forgotten some things but I'll take a look.

EDIT: Checking my saved benchmarks with submitted ones, it appears I'm fine. Another gold trophy and 2.1 points more.

I really don't care about member contest or prizes, just want to add my points to overall XS rank, that's all.

But since I had posted some bench's in other forums, and in my Hwbot appears as member of F13PC and Aquapc, where I posted, I don't know if is legal, or if I need to remove the posts.
