I just came across this post, and thought some people here might find it useful, honestly, this is only about 1/10th of what I have to do to prevent condensation of my chiller, but if I had this guide when I started, it sure would have saved me alot of trial and error :D

For all those interested, this is my rig which is running mostly 24/7 and not had the slightest bit of condensation on the GPU after carrying out this mod

Seal string is out of a prommie kit

backplate is left on because it wouldn't come off even with the force we gave it and as it's a £300 odd card that was a few days old didn't fancy totally knackering it.

just look for windshield sealant at Napa.
costs me 3 dollars a roll, and it's the exact same thing that chipcon sells.

Are you sure that's what it's called? I couldn't find the exact stuff on their website at www.napaonline.com

Think you could help me out with that by finding it and giving me the NAPA part #?

maybe it's not napa, can't remember now, it's definatly a car store, I don't go there often, I can show you exactly where I get it here in seattle at best :(

took me a few minutes, cause I know it's just a plain white box it comes in, but it's called "ribbon sealer"

you can find some information about it here.

Anytime, but you really should thank Bowman, in his infinite resourceful-ness he gave me that little tip, and saved me atleast $100 dollars so far...
I go through alot of seal string myself, as it tends to get coverd in thermal paste or hair when I take it off, so I don't reuse much of it ;)
I don't know how much this 3M stuff is, the stuff I get just comes in a little white box, for 3 dollars :)

Yeah, Majormav gave me the same tip, but he said to get this stuff:
http://www.diy.com/bq/product/product.jhtml?PRODID=24554&paintCatId=&CATID=187239

which is not available in North America. This stuff seems to be the same though, so I will pick some up. Thanks Kunaak.
