Our humble site has been appointed the task to send one Belgian overclocker (or team of two) to Amsterdam, Netherlands for the big finals in August. You can win MSI Motherboards, VGA cards and a performance laptop!

It's European only, as in, no US. If MSI wanted to create a World Cup then I'm sure XS would come in handy, but since this contest is organized by MSI Europe the competition is EU only and I see no better ways to organize the EU Cup, how else will you inform the local overclockers if you don't talk to the regions biggest OC community. If your country has nearly no extreme overclockers then this competition might make the change. I hope you join and that you share your knowledge and emphasize with other Danish overclockers, eventually joining one of the local teams maybe.

Finals will proof to be quite a challenge, I'd say sign up at the Tweak.dk site and maybe you'll stumble up against one of my skilled team mates. This is the Champions League of overclocking, you better be in it ;)

Im in the Danish competition :)
We havent made our results yet, and even if my team wins, its not certain that I will go, we're three :)
We had tons of problem last night with our motherboard, we got around 7000 lower 06mark 2006 score then we were supposed to... Very bizar... Also, it cannot allow more then 5600-5650mhz.... So, next shot another board, and hopefully 5.8ghz 1M and 5.65ghz 3D :)

Unfortunately is organized by a site that has not that much to do with oc, and the rules are for now pretty dumb (Prime95 1h......Fur 30min...lol at that...then Spi 1M and 3DM2006 at those clocks...pff). Also, only now, 6th of June they start preliminary here....and it only lasts untill 15th June....Veeeeery nice of them.....9 days to get there....hihihi....Nevertheless.....it is a good thing that is happening here also, so Marc.....it seems that I might indeed come after you.....hehehe. I care less about winning this competition (it's gonna be pretty hard I guess) but I would like to meet you guys :)

The Swedish qualification is up and running now.
3dmark 05 is the way to go and there are some restrictions to what hardware you are allowed to use. Just aircooling for one and singel card setups are allowed. One sweet thing is that the qualifying round end as late as may the 29th. Witch means HD4870 X2 for the win ;)

And yeah we started a little later than others, because we got the information about we where going to do the Danish part, the same day as others made theirs online.

But thats what happen, our competition also runs longer time than others so cant se the problem.

Well I think it is great that you are freinds With M.Beier.

Please when you read my post know that I have spent many hours with him and alot of time on the Phone to. We had some differences, and now we dont speak together any more. So I know him better than most people do.

It seams like you fell Daxel is insulting him ?
The way I see it, he is replying to the fact that Mark claims he dosent know why he was baned, that he was never informed and that he tweak.dk will pay at a later time.

Sounds a bit weird to me since that has his primary danish site and he posted alot in there.

Mark was banned from Tweak.dk because of alot of things, but the magure part in it was that he got a user from Tweak banned here at XS because he was mad at him.

mark told me, That he had sent a PM to Fugger, Telling him to ban the user or Mark would leave XS. He was very proude of that

I contacted a site admin, They can confirm the storry if you dont belive me, And explained what happend. He was unbanned because there was never a reason to ban him but dont know what he really wrote to Fugger.

But the bans in Denmark are from a time when Mark was younger, and they are not an attemt to track him down and kill him. Just stop the frustation that was building on the danish sites.

They where dealt because he did and said some stupid things and insultes alot of users. But he has changed alot the last 1-2 years. It isent that bad anymore :)

Guys....this is supposed to be about the MSI overclocking competition, not "people vs Mark Beier." Everybody may do or say things in our young years, and everybody can make a mistake or two. But when it comes to benching you do not ban someone from a competition. It's all about skill and results, no personal quarrels or such. May the best bencher win.....that is the idea....We fight through our results and achievements, that is all that matters. :)

I hope they won't do the same @ this MSI contest, an European OC contest without 3D in it, is no contest to determine who is the best.

However, i prolly don't stand a change if I made it to the finals, I would like to see 3D benching.... brings a lot of tweaking with it, and taking care of more then one LN2 tube is work of art by itself...

yesterday I received an email from MSI fr, and there is a big surprise in it :

We will arrange cooling like LN2 and Dry Ice but materials like gloves or thermos bottles should be brought along by you yourself. There are no restrictions on cooling as long as it is safe and sound.

So it's a very good news, the contest will be more interesting.

Now the question is : are Cinebench and Wprime the only benchmarks to do ??

On P45 Platinum DDR2 rev 1.1 with official bios 1.1 I didn't come close to 640 FSB since I received it yesterday....and I tried that with with E8500 that gets 640FSB on X48 on air, and the Crucials in the sig. I am sure that the board can go even higher than 640FSB, I will play with it some more, but I was just curios about the bios version.

Same here with the problems in OS, memtest works fine.

BTW, if you use "Multi-step OC Booster" your OC will not be applied fully until you enter the OS.

This is unbelievable motherboard, but not the way it should be.

400fsb is ok, but anything over that is a no go. I can boot at high fsb too, but windows is different story. Mobo is raising fsb by steps in os and when it goes over 428 or something, it always freezes in windows.

Nice to have a contest with 3.6GHz cpu :D
