8.5x400 @ 1.1000V vcore at the moment, it's p95 stable. I'm not looking for an extreme 4 GHz overclock... 3.4 GHz is fine for me. My old q6600 couldn't do 8x400 at a vcore under 1.4 and this thing has surpassed that by 200 MHz at much less vcore.

Warmest core as-per CT0.98.1 is 46 °C and there is only a 1 °C spread between cores. Looks like I don't need to lap it either... again this is in stark contrast to my Q6600 :)

EDIT - 05/04/08 - After completing my vcores minimization and stabilization (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=186603), I'm running 8.5x400 @ 1.12500V of vcore (which is p95 stable over >34 h). Not too far off the original 1.1 I reported, but still pretty low.

Nice congrats

Now push it to satisfy our collective curiosities :D

I wonder if they are truly binned better?

What mobo btw?

Thats rather impressive for that low voltage, i get 3.4GHz with default Vcore of 1.220V, 1.180V under CPU-Z.

It's from L803A762, pack date: 03/06/08.

It's prime95 stable (overnight) 8.5x400 @ 1.1250 V in the BIOS. The lower value was prime95 stable, but x264 kept crashing. I'm sure there's plenty left, but it'll have to wait for my 2nd stick of memory... one of the two was bad!

Sheesh. That is great:up: Very nice CPU. Now if Intel could only come out with a 45nm quad with 9 or greater multi:rolleyes:

newls1, there will be its gonna be Q9650 ( not to be confused with QX9650's )

X3360 is crossover to Q9550 @ 2.83 GHz stock speed.. Q9650 suppose to be 3 GHz

1.2.. might be lower but I haven't tried... do you know of a guide that explains all those voltages options??

Can we see some screenies plz ? a great moment for you to show off with that lovely CPU, I want one !!!! My Qx9650 does 3.6 at 1.135volts stable and 4ghz at 1.26 volts, but your CPU costs only half of mine... blimey :)

And for the Q9650 I think we will have to pay big time for it... and prolly not released in the near future...

unfortunately I dont :(. Im looking around for that stuff myself, only seperate tidbits around on the forums (obviously reading the most in the DFI x38 mobo thread :D). GTL seems to be the key, but Ive not had much time to play around with that..

I got the same with my x3360 went to 3.4G's idel temps 34c load 49c (8.5 x 400mhz @1.10volts) memory was 1600mhz @7.6.6.20 2T volts1.90 but my northbridge was to hot 57c on load, volts @1.50.

OMG, that sounds like a winner:up: Knowing Intel, it will more then likely be priced right where the X3360 (Q9550) is now, and the X3360 (Q9550) will be in the high 300 dollar range:shrug:. Only guessing at this point, but should be a great CPU. Anyone know of a release date for it?

will there be a xeon equivalent of the q9650?
also does a x3360 for $300 sound like a deal worth jumping on?

I don't know about #1, but $300 for x3360 is about 1/2 price. So provided that it's not a fried chip, it sounds like a great deal!

My first post on this forum. I'm running a Rampage Formula with a Xeon X3350 and I noticed that some of the voltages reported by Asus probe are wrong when set to auto. NB was 1.65v on auto but should be 1.4v. I've raised the v core only .05 but I noticed it was much higher than it should be after oc and I was curious about what are the safe limits?

I hope I don't have to back off too much because I was able to boot and do a capture of CPU-Z at 3.92Ghz before lockup. I'm rather stable now at 3.8Ghz, temp 23c idle 42c loaded.
