Not sure where else to post this.

So my Samsung Blackjack is getting old and tired, and I'd really like a touchscreen smartphone. Doesn't need to have 3G, but would be nice. Has to have GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.

ATT has the TILT, but I'm not too fond of how it looks. I don't really want an IPhone; I'm just not attracted to it. I think its a good phone, but its not for me.

I found this company called E-Ten. They are a Taiwanese based phone company, but you can order unlocked models in the US, and they come with international support and warranty from what I've read.

Here is the 3 phones I've been looking at from them.

The X650. Doesn't have 3G, and its pretty close to the X800. Windows Mobile 6 Pro

The X500+. No 3G, a little cheaper, like the all black look a little better than the others. Also has Windows Mobile 6 Pro

$519.95 + SHIPPING WWW.EXPANSYS-USA.COM

I'm open to other companies too, as E-Ten phones are somewhat expensive in the US.

How about the Nokia N95 (http://nseries.com/products/n95/#l=products,n95) (review (http://www.mobiletechreview.com/phones/Nokia-N95-3.htm)) or if you can wait longer the N96 (http://europe.nokia.com/A4797539) which is scheduled to be released in Q3.

I like nokia phones but those you posted look pretty thick. However, 3.5G network and a really nice camera make it look very attractive.

Thanks for the post.

I got the Tilt a few days ago and I'm glad I went with it. It should hold me off until the nVidia APX 2500 comes out ;)

The Tilt has everything I needed and more, Wi-Fi is definitely a plus, had to have a touch screen after owning a Treo. And it's very customizable.. And one thing that freaking saved my life, the GPS. It works freaking AMAZING.

My buddy and I were driving around town looking for a Maximus Formula for a quick project and we were told to go towards Dallas. Well I got lost, activated the ATT Navigator and it works just as great as any GPS unit I've seen..

This phone owns. The only thing I don't like about it, is the god damn microSD, I can't stand that crap. My Treo had a full SD Slot and I wish this phone had one too.

i have little love for the open source community because most of it is garbage (but kudos for those poeple who have the brain power to code such things)

and having a bunch of back yard programmers programming my phone in a off beat non standard Dungeon & Dragons coding language is just not the greatest idea in the world.

(damn that comment is sig worthy, anyone wanting to use it is more than welcome to quote me)

Black 3G iPhone?

They better come out with one, and it better get 2x the battery life, and be the thickness of the ipod touch.....

I'm thinking a new 3G IPhone or a Nokia N95 8GB now. The Nokia looks badass.

no one respects the n82 LOL
N82 is the N95 in a candy bar form, with xenon flash! i'm using an 8gb microsdhc card right now in it, and i love it :)
you can get a black or silver/aluminum, your choice...
either way n95/n82 great choice. never had an iphone, so i cant give you any info on that.

I've had a Treo 650, 680, and now own the Tilt. Its by far the best phone i have owned, with everything it has, and the apps available for it. Its also HSDPA capable. I personally would say touchscreen is a must have, i don't think i could own a non-touch screen device after the last three phones i have owned.

You could look into the HTC Diamond, but may be out of your price range.

If you still didn't get a phone, then FYI: Windows mobile is OK, but it could be A LOT better. :slap:

HTC touch pro would be a good choice also and they do contain the missing graphics drivers in its predecessors. I would wait for a month for the price to go down a bit though.

Sony Ericsson P1i FTW!

I have that phone. It really rocks dude.

Solid as, great performing, (12 apps open at once and fast as). Battery life is great too.

4 hours of using 802.11x Wireless, and my battery is from about 85% to 25%, not bad considering how small the battery is!

Sorry

My two cents

I know you said no iPhone but you really don't know what your missing out on. As soon as you own it and use it for a while, you'll soon realize you CANNOT live without this device. It really is superior to all other phones. Hell, it's and understatement to call it a "phone." It's everything. I use mine CONSTANTLY. I use the maps function to get me to places (just used it a few days ago to get me to the State Fair to meet up with some friends), I use the iPod function for music in my car daily, I use the internet a lot, I check MySpace + Facebook on my break at work, at friends houses, etc. Texting is great on it, as is the phone function itself.

All of that and it's so well implemented and seamless, and the interface is the most intuitive interface of ANY device period. It's so easy to grasp and use, everything is logically placed and I guarantee you that the more you use it and the longer you have it the more you'll like it. It wow's me every day with some of the things it can do.

You may not like the TILT, but give it a chance. I suggest getting tytn 2 over TILT though.

It pretty much has everything you've ever seen on a phone as a feature. And if you go online a lot/text a lot, the full qwerty keyboard is a MUST especially after experiencing blackjack's full qwerty.

Trust me, I've went from a Treo 650 to a touchscreen only phone. I could not stand it. I went back to the treo (only phone with keyboard and touchscreen in 04')
