I had 4 X 1GB 1066MHz Dominators working great on the board but I decided to grab the 2 X 2GB kit when I saw it in stock. My mistake was selling the original 4 sticks before the new kit arrived. After installing this kit, the system will not post. I tried one stick at a time and different slots.

Are there any known compatibility issues with the 4GB (2x2) 1066MHz kit and the Striker II Formula 780i ? I assumed this kit would work fine.

Specs:
CPU - E8400
Mobo - Striker II Formula 780i
GPU - EVGA 8800 Ultra
PSU - PC Power & Cooling 750
HDD - Seagate 7200.11

It's always a good idea to go on the motherboard manufacturer's website to check for compatibility by model number.

But I find it strange that it won't POST. I would have expected it to beep a few times or something.

Have you tried reseting the BIOS? That has saved me a few headaches in the past.

There are no compatibility issues with this board and your memory. Can you test the memory in another system?

Not sure if this will help: http://www.corsairmemory.com/testreports/report_print_new.aspx?r_id=477435&p_id=468365&m_id=456541
